When I started collecting stamps in the early 80's, most of the stockbooks and albums I encountered were made by Lighthouse, or Leuchtturm as we'd call it in Norway, using the original German name. For me, the lighthouse logo became synonymous with stamp collecting and quality.When my wife had a brief fascination with stamps, combined with a big fascination for the London 2012 Olympic Games, she bought all the Team GB winner first day covers, and as I wouldn't let her just leave them lying around or in the envelope we received them in, I got this for her, trusting that what I received would be the Leuchtturm quality I had come to expect from more than thirty years ago.The binding, and the accompanying dust cassette are as solid as you could ever wish for. The plastic pockets are thin, yet strong-feeling, with a thin plastic backing to keep the two covers in one pocket separate and provide a nice, black backing for them.I did think both the clear plastic and backing looked a bit cheap compared to the actual cover and binding, and I probably would have preferred something more solid-looking for half the number of covers in the same size album, but I have no doubt it will stand the test of time and occasional leafing through to relive the excitement of the 2012 Olympics.If I needed another one, I would look around a bit more to see if I could find something with thicker pockets, but I would not feel too disappointed if I had to buy another one of these. The cover has that satisfyingly solid feel to it you usually only get when holding a 19th century hand-bound leather-covered book, back when bookbinding still was a serious, highly-skilled and prestigious craft.

Top quality

Ths product was received in time so that was positive. However, having got my old fdcs ready to insert, I discovered that none of them would fit. My fdcs are from the late 90s, early 00s so maybe they were bigger then? Would have been useful to include the dimensions for the fdcs that would fit. Not all bad though, I now have 3 new photo albums.....

This is my first FDC album. It looks really good and has 50 double-sided easily accessible pockets for 100 first day covers. I’m very pleased with and would buy again.

Does not fit longer first day covers.most of the first day covers issued in india are not fitting into it.not useful
