Great songs
I bought this cd along with three other Chris Isaak cds. I like this one a lot but I think it’s a toss up between “Beyond the Sun” and “Best of Chris Isaak” as my all time favorite.

Nice pressing
The sound mastering for this pressing is rather low so be prepared to turn it up a bit to really open it up. My copy was fairly quiet which was a relief after reading some reviews of the earlier RSD pressing which had a lot of complaints. Great to have on vinyl - wish they would release Forever Blue!

Excellent vinyl pressing
Chris is always great and this one is a must if you are a fan. The vinyl is excellent and dead silent.

Isaak's Fourth Album Shows He's No Flash in the Pan
San Francisco Days take Isaak a little more to the jazz side than his early rockabilly. This is a pleasant album for sure, but it's no Heart Shaped World. As a fourth album, he could do much worse. His mix of music is decent including a cover of Neil Diamond's terrific Solitary Man.This album shows that Isaak is neither a one hit wonder nor one dimensional. He can spread his talent to a variety of styles and still sound good. This is a great CD to put on when you've a variety of guests around and wish to have some nice background music.

"THE INCLUSION OF THE "RARE" TRACK, "SUSPICION OF LOVE" MAKES THIS A GREAT COLLECTIBLE"
"SAN FRANCISCO DAYS" is the title track from the album of the same name. This is a 3 song set that also includes "WESTERN STARS" from his "Silvertone" album, & this 'Chris Isaak' composition was also covered by "k.d. lang." But the REAL treat here is the inclusion of the 'RARE' song 'gem', { SUSPICION OF LOVE }, - a song you won't find on 'ANY' Chris Isaak album; only found in the Movie & Soundtrack of '"Married To The Mob". It's an upbeat guitar song that has that air of 'James Bond' mystery to it. "Suspicion Of Love" is among the best songs recorded by 'Chris Isaak' & really should've been promoted as a Single by the Record Company. They kind of missed the boat there because it had the potential to be a hit on it's own. Its RARITY does though make it very COLLECTIBLE!

Great Album
This is a very solid release by Chris. Includes an all time favorite Can't Do A Thing(To Stop Me), such an excellent track. Another fave is the Neil Diamond cover, Solitary Man. The remastering on this new reissue is superb. It's clear and full sounding, but NOT a victim to the loudness wars.

5 Stars for Sure
Wow, i can't believe i never heard this album in its entirety 'til now. Every Track is a keeper. The songs, the order, the instrumentation, the production... A hole in one with every swing !!! I thought at one point that "Heart Shaped World" was Chris's best album, and that this was a follow up that kind of missed the mark... not true at all !!!! Ok, the one piece that i'm not so keen on is the Neil Diamond song. I think Chris does an excellent version, I have still yet to become a fan of the song... Sadly this is the last album with his original guitarist. On the positive side, I find myself savoring the guitar playing as it is truly amazing how well it defines the songs next to Chris's voice.
