Lamy 1231306 LX Ruthenium Extra Fine Fountain Pen

I've always been a fan of Lamy pens ever since the writing-progression system my junior school implemented (you were gifted a fountain pen if your hand-writing improved to the highest level), so I've always written with one. Normally, I wrote with budget Safaris, before moving onto the Nexx pens which have the smooth rubber grip, but all my pens have been used into oblivion a bit, so I decided to treat myself to a posher version of the Al-Star pens (as I like the feel of the metal Nexx but wanted a different grip again).The nib was a bit scratchy at first (as all nibs are, really) until it got 'broken in', and I can say that I love writing with this pen. The weight and the feel, returning to a guided grip, the look of it, I'm enjoying it all. The Extra Fine nib is great for me as my handwriting tends to be small and cramped in the first place (it never improved past that highest junior school level...) and this is the perfect pen to push me through the final stages of my dissertation!

Lamy fountain pens are of the highest quality and write beautifully. Superb in every way.

A lovely gift from my husband and now my favourite and most treasured pen. I’d wanted one since they came out but tried to resist when I already have several fountain pens.I use it daily and really enjoy the smooth writing from the extra fine nib. I have a Lamy Al-Star with an extra fine min too but the nib with the LX is slightly different and writes so much smoother.I love this pen and look after it very carefully. The included matching metal tube case I got means I can carry it everywhere and don’t worry about it getting damaged.
