Good descriptions and informative diagrams. This was bought as a reference book for unqualified nurses and care staff to understand the importance of infection control. We liked it so much we have purchased one for each of our 12 units.

Excellent, easy to navigate

This guide about infection prevention and control is a clear, colourful and informative book about this important topic. This book would be great for those studying to become a nurse or for those who work in a residential or nursing home. In an A4 format this book explores what an infection actually is, the principles of control, clinical management of outbreaks and a breakdown of the common illnesses you may come across in your work.This has clear illustrations explaining various procedures (like sample collections and hand hygiene), as well as the various parts of the body illnesses can affect etc. There are also colour photographs to further clarify or explain illnesses and this makes for an attractive (for want of a better word) book of illness and infectious disease. All in all this is a through and informative book if you work/study in this field and should be required reading for all new starters in nursing homes.Feel free to check out my blog which can be found on my profile page.

The 'At a Glance' range of medical books are the market leaders in the field are written by experts in their field and designed for those working or seeking to work within the particular speciality the guide is written for. I'd advise just to look at the example pages to get an idea of the standard quality of these guides. Like all the rest this Infection Prevention and Control guide covers the whole area of infection; the pages are colour coded with plenty of easily accessible sub sections to make understanding quick and easy.

The eldest girl is about to start her first year of medical studies. This book provides a very effective overview of all aspects of infection control. It is well laid out, describing both the principles of approach and also a detailed analysis of risks and prevention. Ideal for any student nurse or medical student as both a reference and a learning aid.

I own the paper copy. The information is accurate and clearly written. The diagrams are excellent accurate and very useful. There is a problem with the £25 kindle version of this book. Blurred diagrams and text. Frustrating. Because this book is very useful and better if a working digital version was available.
