like the title says. I can smell the essential oils for sure. But the mosquitoes didn't give a rat's butt about it. or at least not enough to give more than a couple of inches of leeway, which makes it basically useless.

Holy mackerel.So, this came in today. I open up a ball and wanted to see if it would work. Let me tell you this is strong. But there are pros and cons.PROI literally saw all the mosquitos in the room fly to another room in the house in minutes.Comes with little baggies so you don't have to touch the stuff.Odor is not unpleasant... just strong.CONThis is also how I found out my husband of almost 25 years is actually a mosquito. He ran to the opposite end of the house. I guess there are worse ways to find out you are married to a mosquito.

Does not work

Mosquitoes love being in my car so I put one in there and so far haven’t seen a mosquito in my car. I’m so happy I’m gonna put some around my door now and see how it works.

It's always a bit difficult to evaluate an item like this. Is it supposed to be 100% effective, or merely REDUCE the number of mosquitos in the area? If you see 5 mosquitos, how many would there have been without the item? Still 5? 10? 100? There's really no way to know.All I can say is that I did not get bitten the evening that I used these, and I have a tendency to get bitten when I'm outside around dusk. So I suspect that this item DID work, but continued testing will be required to give a more definitive answer. And even then, it'll be somewhat subjective.

I had searched for mosquito dunks, this was the first result and is misleadingly described as if they are the same thing. This is just a ball with some herbal oils that smell funky. Difficult to say if it is effective at repelling insects (doesn't work for gnats) but certainly not the product it tried to pretend it is.

This is my review of the FfordHome Mosquito Repellent Balls. The set comes with eight (8) balls infused with Lemongrass, Wintergreen & Peppermint oils.What I liked about it...There are eight mesh bags with a drawstring, one for each ball so each can be hung separatelyIncluded with the set are a pair of plastic gloves, trust me, you will need it as the oils probably transfer over to your handsWhat I did not like about it...Should I be worried about the statement that this has not been registered with the EPA? The box states that the balls are plant based...Conclusion...Initially, the scent is quite overpowering, reminiscent of menthol. Placing a bag inside proved to be overwhelming due to the strong aroma. However, hanging a bag by my side door and another by the front door has been effective; I haven't been bitten, and mosquitoes haven't entered the house. It seems to be working. I will certainly provide an update on the efficacy of these balls after the mosquito season concludes.
