Cut, Peel, and Stick sound dampening goodness
It's ADHESIVE sheets of VINYL sound dampening material. I used it inside the door panels on the metal of my 2005 Mini Cooper S, it GREATLY reduced road noise. I replaced the speakers at the same I installed the sound dampening, so I cannot comment on whether it improved the sound of the speakers. I also trimmed sheets of adhesive felt and put pieces in the door to reduce rattle. I used about four or five sheets to cover both interior doors. It's been in the door for several months, adhesive is still going strong. I have no idea what the other reviewers were expecting, or perhaps the product has changed in the intervening years.

Very light weight... effectiveness is questionable.
I added this to the side panels of my mid sized ATX computer case hoping to bring an already quiet rig down a db or so. The difference, if any is not strongly perceivable. There may be an ever so slight dampening of the metal case "buzzing" noise, but it was barely there to begin with. And I think I'm just wanting to hear a difference to justify the purchase.I'm not sure what the ideal use case is for this material, but a computer case is not it...

Your Mileage May Vary
I used it in a small space with loud motors. Though it reduced sound, it was not by much. Still works, though not perfectly.

Not at all what I expected
I thought this would be some kind of rubber mat that would dampen the annoying vibration noise of an inexpensive pump...It's more like a piece of plastic. Looks about like 100 grit sandpaper - but hard plastic.I guess I should have noticed the term "vinyl" and wondered how it could go with the term "sound dampening".I don't see how it would dampen much sound. It certainly didn't dampen the vibration noise.I've seen soundproofing foam. This doesn't have any "cones" and it's hard plastic, not foam.I'm using it as an *expensive* placemat for my cat's food bowl.

Serves its purpose work as intended.
Used it to dull the sound of a running ultra sonic cleaner. Works like a charm.

No adhesive. Does not stick.
I need to use electric tape because there is sticky side. In correct description. I noticed someone has already commented on it but I did not read.
