What can I say? I'm a massive Connelly fan and this certainly does not disappoint. I couldn't put it down. I see his latest is out and I'm about to order that now. Perfect for rainy winter afternoons, except they only last for one! I wish I could make them last longer!

Good characters that I have got to know over many novels. Glad that Harry Bosch still has a place in Michael’s books! Stylish writing, well paced and witty. Another thoroughly enjoyable read.

“Finding innocence among the many convicted felt to Bosch like a check on a system he knew firsthand was imperfect.“ “Roberto always threatened to take her son away from her, in his death he finally did.” His wife went to prison for having shot him. But did she really do it? The case had been “off the rail from the beginning”. Bosch and Haller believe in her innocence. They try to “knock down evidence against her like domino.” Key question: If this woman is innocent, how can that be proofed? “Innocence began to crumble. Took him no more than 10 minutes.” But the enemy wants to “stir things up, knock me off my game.” I don`t find the story to be thrilling, it`s an entertaining roller coaster in the court between judge, Haller and the prosecutor.
