Hours of fun!
I bought my youngest 2 book nooks, and then also added this house too. The little book nooks took them just one day to complete, but this one....we're now on week 2 and still got loads to do. So really worth the money....plus it looks fabulous!

Fiddly sometimes but worth it
Made this model for my adult step daughter. She loves the finished product. The final assembly instructions aren’t very clear though but the furniture instructions are.

It looks wonderful
It’s for a Xmas present so I can’t comment on how well it goes together yet but I’ve looked through it and it looks fabulous so I have high hopes for it

awful
oh my gosh where to start ... the glue will not stick anything properly ,the tiny wooden bits will break even if you use the correct tools to remove them, nothing will line up correctly no matter how hard you try,the paper bits are so flimsy it's impossible to try and construct them, the instructions are so basic and the pictures so vague you end up having to use ALOT of guess work, the printing is awful on the product, parts missing... in short the whole project was awful

not all the lights worked on this
I bought this to make and very much enjoyed it but when I came to put the lights in only 4 worked I was very disappointed with the end product which spoilt it because the rest was great to make.

A really nice kit, but time consuming and challenging
I have to confess right from the start that I haven't finished building this kit yet, but I've done enough to assess its quality. I'm happy to say, it's very good indeed.Clearly inspired by a certain boy wizard franchise, the magic shop building kit arrives in an attractive, robust box. Inside is a dizzying number of parts and a full colour instruction booklet. Nicely, the instructions are heavy on clear colour images, and so it's pretty easy to follow along. The kit contains pretty much everything you need to build the kit, but you will need to supply a couple of AAA batteries, a craft knife, scissors, a straight edge, tweezers, a bit of sandpaper, and a large amount of time and patience! The main structures of the kit are made of laser cut wood. The pieces generally pop out quite easily, but be careful and take your time to avoid any unwanted breakages. All of the objects and decorations are a mixture of plastic, cloth, stickers and paper. There's even a little paintbrush and gold paint for a few parts. A lighting kit is also included, which comes pre-wired. You just need to install the lights and put batteries in.This is the kind of kit that you need to take your time with in order to do it justice. If you're an experienced model builder, there's a lot of scope for customisation with this kit too.A competent teen could likely build this with a little adult help here and there, but it is a challenging and time consuming kit to build, but ultimately a rewarding one.The supplied glue is PVA, and is fine to stick some of the parts, but you might want to use a glue stick for the paper parts as you'll get a much cleaner finish. One thing I'm not that keen on is the very prominent sign that goes above the window, which reads "Be a real adventurer in the magic world." It sounds a bit clunky, like something has been lost in translation. I've decided to print my own replacement for that paper element. Also note that this kit doesn't come with any sort of dust cover, but one is apparently available as there are instructions on how to build it in the booklet. You could easily make your own out of some clear acrylic. I think one will be needed as it will be a definite dust trap!Overall, I'm really impressed with this kit. I think this would make a really nice gift, and is a fantastic project for long winter nights.
