The MX-1 is a low cost, no frills shoe. Looks: Not so much. These shoes look like a cross between bedroom slippers and gardening clogs. Style is not the strong suit. That said, they're great for beginners, casual cyclists on a budget, and for those with wider feet. Sizing: I wear a 12.5 US, and typically al 46 or 47 in European shoes. When I measured my feet with a Sidi sizing tool at the local bike shop, my toes landed between the 46 and 47 mark, my instep between 45 and 46 as shown. Width is between E and EE, slightly wider than "normal". Selecting a 12.5 men's in the MX-1 brought a shoe marked as 48 European. The is pretty close to perfect for my feet. Toes have just a tiny bit of space, heel is not loose, and my instep is snug but not pinched. I've only done about 50Km in them so far, and they've been comfortable. The only exception is that I have thick, tall toes and my big toenails are pushed down a bit. I don't think the plastic front will stretch much, so this may be a problem. Potential drawbacks: Serious cyclists might not like all the elastic on top, and probably will be disappointed by the lack of "tuneability" in the single Y strap. Those who ride in weather will get wet socks from the elastic cloth and perforations. Summary: I bought these as a backup to my old trusted Sidis, and for the money I think they're just fine.

Good quality shoe but deceptive size chart. Had to return two pairs due to them being too short. I ended up buying another brand.

These didn't fit me right so I'm not able to comment on their performance, only the fit and the incorrect size label. I consistently wear women's size 7.5 in U.S. and 24.5 in Japanese shoes and my European size in Ecco and Birkenstock is 38. I ordered these in U.S. size 8 and they came in a box that was labeled U.S. size 6, European size 39, Japanese size 24.5. The only size that was accurate on the box was the Japanese size, so I'm glad I had based my order on my Japanese size! This size 8 fit like my regular U.S. size 7.5 and Japanese size 24.5. The only issue is that they are clearly a B width and my feet are between a B and C width so they felt a little narrow in the ball of the foot. They were loose in the heel, though, so my A width heel slipped in them. I know better than to ignore the discomfort of a slightly narrow shoe, since I've learned that it creates arch cramping after awhile. I sadly have to return them.

Ordered a 10.5 US twice. Received a 10 US twice. Ordered an 11 US received a 10.5 US. I guess you have to order a half size minimum above your actual shoe size. Review order for proper size when placing the order. As other reviews have stated these are no frills beginner/spin class focused shoes, the single elastic hook and loop strap leaves very little ability to modify fit.
