Good cooler with an easy fix if not cooling.
This cooler is attractive, quiet, efficient and roomy. No need for ice, so all the space is usable. The cooler is tall so items can be stacked. My cooler is about 4 to 5 degrees F. colder inside than the temperature display shows, but it holds the setpoint very well. I have it set for +/- 2 degrees so the compressor does not cycle very often. This is a great advantage over thermoelectric coolers which run all the time and only cool 40 degrees F. below ambient. I HIGHLY recommend this Costway portable refrigerator!I just set the F1 adjustment to -6 and now the displayed internal temperature is perfect. I really like this refrigerator / freezer - By far the best value I have found! The dc converter is not even warm as this unit is extremely efficient.Update: I have used this cooler almost nonstop for a year and it still works perfectly. It has been on trips and is always plugged in at home. The cooler is very quiet and I am very satisfied with this brand.04-30-2021: The cooler started to run all of the time and no longer cooled. My fix is as follows. Remove all contents. Unplug the frig and place it upright with the cord side facing the floor. Let it remain vertical for 24 hours. Set it down in the normal position and plug it in. Set your temperature and let it cool down to set point. Then add your items back in. For me, this has worked wonderfully and it now cycles as it should and keeps everything at setpoint.

Very Efficient! Ice cold! Pics attached of current draw!
So I’ve had this for a little less than a year and used it on a few trips. Including a 4 day dry camping situation in my truck.First here’s a rundown of my setup:-2000w inverter-95AH AGM battery-Battery isolator-100w solar panel w/ controller-Voltage/Capacity monitorThings I’ve learned:First trip I ran the fridge off the inverter with the 120v supply provided with the fridge. After that trip I learned it’s much more efficient running directly from 12v if possible. We did 4 days when it was a bit cloudy some days off the inverter and occasionally the inverter would cutoff the fridge due to the inverter having an auto shutoff somewhere just under 11v. Running directly off the battery will allow you to set the fridge to run as long as possible. This is perfect if you are running an isolated battery system like me, but I wouldn’t recommend that you run it off your main car battery without engaging the battery protection on the back of the fridge to MED or High so you don’t kill your starting battery.I saw a video here complaining about the draw not being at the 50w claimed. That is false. This is a very efficient unit as you can see in my photos in max mode it pulls less than 50w and I’m eco mode(which works extremely well at keeping everything cold) it drops to the mid 30W’s.On thing I think should be mentioned is to take the manufacturers specs into account when parking on hills. They say it will operate up to a 30degree incline I’d recommend 25degrees or less just to be safe. I left it parked on a steep hill not thinking about it and over night it never shut off but the compressor stopped cooling and the temp had risen to mid 50s by the morning. Purely in my thoughts because the Freon most likely looked at the back of the unit.(or maybe they have a safety switch about a certain tilt angle) This is not a complaint at all just something to keep in mind not to leave it at steep angles overnight. Also note that the fridge still functions correctly and wasn’t damaged because of this.Cooling is awesome!! I keep it set at 25-28 on the built in thermometer to account for any inaccuracies in the built in thermostat. It keeps food fresh, beer and drinks ice cold! I’ve never had a need to set it low enough for frozen foods but I would imagine it would work excellent. Also it cools to temp very fast even off the 12v adapter.Space: you can set a full 12pack of beer in one slot on the deep side and still have plenty of room on top as well as the other deep slot and the slot in the back. We took enough food for 3 people including bacon, eggs, drinks, sandwich meat and more. There was still room for extra. All in all I am 100% happy with this unit and highly recommend it for functionality and value!

Good cooler as long as you have power.
This will take 102F Texas heat, under a towel, and cool the interior to 28F ... and that's very, very impressive. We use this for camping and by the pool, and pulling out ice cold drinks all day long makes this well worth the money. The thing that stops me from 5 stars is it's actually a terrible ice chest. Yes, as long as it's running, it will certainly cool the interior with absolutely no problems. But ... the insulation sucks. Let the power go off, and it will loose slightly more than one (1) degree Fahrenheit every minute. Obviously, that's contingent on the outside air temperature, but still ... when you're used to coolers that can keep ice for 7 days ... or even 3 days, this thing's insulation is probably rated at something like 1 hour. As long as you have power, that's not an issue. But it would use _so_ much less power with some decent insulation.I also want to commend Costway on the power utilization. I actually run this about 95% of the time off a 12V lithium battery using some simple converter cables. My 12V/40AH battery can run this in 100F heat for about 12 hours. Even then, the limit isn't the battery -- the cooler has an adjustable voltage cutoff. See, it's designed to run off a car battery and ... (you can go look it up) when you run the car battery down to 12V, you've actually at 50%. Unfortunately, you can't disable this feature -- so be aware if you're running this off a Lithium battery.Another small quibble -- If you are going to fill this up with drinks, food, etc, you might want to invest in a small refrigerator fan. The refrigerant is piped in at the bottom of the cooler. it has a "fruits and vegetables" tray that works at a higher temperature simply because it is not at the bottom of the cooler. The main compartment is all metal, and you can feel that this metal compartment is attached to the refrigerant as a heat exchanger (cooling the interior) You can feel the temperature gradient when you stick your hand in. So, it works really well to cool anything in the bottom, but if you stack cans, the upper cans don't get cold. A small battery operated refrigerator fan basically solves this.Last word on the cooling. When you set the temperature, realize that the controller will basically cool to about 3-4 degrees F below the target, then let it rise to 3-4 degrees above. This has to do with the accuracy of the temperature measurement hardware. As far as I can tell, the temperature measurement is accurate to within about 1F, but you shouldn't panic if you see it slightly above the temperature you set it to.
