Significantly improves on the earlier Neewer grip
With this CA079 grip, Neewer has taken their previous grip for the Nikon Zf and dramatically improved it simply by a subtle redesign of the front grip angle and with the all-important addition of a rear thumb grip. The change to the front makes the camera easier to hold when not in a shooting position (it's more squared off from the camera body) and the rear thumb grip is small but very well designed to provide a very secure hold by your thumb on the body. The addition of this means you don't have to squeeze the grip like you did on Neewer's earlier effort, and this dramatically reduces fatigue when carrying and shooting with the camera. As someone who has owned all the major grips for the Zf (including Nikon's own Zf-GR1), this new Neewer grip is the best of the lot, and the most comfortable to use. They also added a touch more space around the SD card making it easier to remove that as well.

Style, Quality meet expectation
I personally think this NEEWER grip is better than SmallRig. It is slidely smaller grip size which is better fit for Nikon Zf retro looking and sametime provide enough grip to increase handling. The red accent is perfect for Nikon camera design style. Have you notice all the Nikon Digital camera body has red accent? oh. The price is very good in comparison with SmallRig one. Recommended.

Good product, can be made better
I just received my Neewer grip from Amazon. Here's my opinion after a few minutes with it:1. The grip improves handling.2. The arca-swiss plate is definitely a plus for me since I am fond of taking long exposure shots and I won't need to add a separate plate anymore.3. The "leather" doesn't feel the same as the one on the body but it doesn't bother me.4. The metal plate that has the red line seems odd but it does protect the body if you have untrimmed nails.5. The arca-swiss plate isn't high/deep and might have issues with some other tripod heads.6. The grip seems to be a bit unnecessarily high/tall and it somewhat blocks the aperture dial. Would definitely be an issue for fat fingers.7. The included shutter button looks cute but I wish it was red.

Fits very well
Fits very well, easy to install and remove. The grip is light yet strong and holds your camera very well.

Not as good as Smallrig grip.
Price was so good I had to try it to see if I liked it more than the Smallrig grip. In short, no. Neewer grip fits the camera okay though I’d prefer the little flat end of the grip not have the red stripe as it clashes with my red body. More importantly is the fact that the grip is slick and more of a plastic feel compared to the Smallrig’s far more grippy rubber texture. Returning this as I immediately put the Smallrig grip back on. If Neewer drops the red stripe and more importantly, changes the grip to a more grippy material this would be on par with the Smallrig.

Excellent addition!
What a difference! This really improves the ergonomics of the NIkon Zf - I only wish it came in the matching body color (I have a blue camera) but it's not a big deal. Highly recommend!

Fits and looks great
Fits perfect and looks great on the ZF. As anyone who has a ZF will tell you, the factory ergonomics are terrible with the weight of the camera. This grip balances it out just right. Have gotten many compliments on it giving that classic nostalgic look of the infamous Nikon F3 with the vertical red stripe. Great call on Neewers part to add that. It’s the main reason I chose it over the smallrig version.

The screw holding the grip to the bottom plate of the camera might fall out.
On the whole, I do like this grip and may prefer it over the SmallRig offering. Fits the retro aesthetic well by harking back to Nikon camera designs from the late 20th century. Although the grip may not be as big as I would have liked, still makes handling the camera much better, much easier, than without. The Neewer grip feels good in the hand. In the store, I found the SmallRig counterpart to have a bit of tackiness to the silicone, as if made from rubber that will quickly degrade in a year or two. Not a pleasant texture.Happy with the recent purchase, took my Nikon Zf with me to document dinner with family. Everything seemed fine. The grip was securely attached to the camera. No sign of it falling off at any point when out and about. When removing the camera from its bag the following morning, the grip came off. I noticed that the bottom screw was missing. No sign of it in the bag. Puzzling, since I tightened the screw considerably when attaching it to the camera. Must have fallen off sometime the previous evening, even though the grip remained attached to the camera body, and at no point felt loose in any way. This has never happened to me before with any grips purchased in the past. For previous grips purchased for other cameras, if the screw were to loosen, the grip and the screw would detach as a whole. The screw would not simply fall off of the grip. I wonder if it might be a design problem or a manufacturing problem. Returning for a replacement. Will update this review on whether the same thing happens or not.
