The Body Shop Maca Root & Aloe Post-Shave Water-Gel for Men – Calms & Soothes – Vegan – 5.4 oz

The Body Shop’s Maca Root and Aloe ”Post-Shave Water-gel” is currently my favorite aftershave. It smells great. Rather than “spiced” or “woodsy” like a lot of products targeted at men, I’d describe the scent as “fresh”. Without coming off chemical-y, sweet, or fruity, and gentle enough to not be overpowering. As a gel it sits on your fingers and is easy to apply evenly. It goes on smoothly and has a mild cooling effect without the sting of menthol, etc. It absorbs quickly and leaves your skin soft and feeling hydrated and refreshed. It doesn’t leave any appreciable residue. It likewise doesn’t change the appearance of your skin much, if anything perhaps a bit more matte. I’ve used it both with disposable cartridge razors as well as safety razors. It works well enough to follow a fairly aggressive shave.

My husband is very picky about what after shave he is willing to use on his skin. It must smell nice to him and function as a good quality after shave. This does both. The aloe also softens his skin post shave. We have already re purchased for him as he like this one so much.

The aftershave is nice yet stinging in the beginning. The smell is great with the smoothness afterwards.

I love everything about this product and I’m a female. The smell is fresh but dissipates after a while but I mostly love the calm thst it brings to my freshly shaved skin - underarms and legs. It does what it says it’s going to do. So, for me, I give it five stars and it deserves each one. I hope they never stop making it.

I've been using this gel since the early 2000's. It was the brand British Airways gave out in the amenity kit in business class and I've bought ever since. It's very refreshing, cooling and soothing without a ton of fragrance like so many gel products today. The shave cream is excellent too - not to heavy or greasy. Some are like coating your face in Crisco or butter and hard to wash off.

The gel is soothing and doesn’t dry the skin, as far as scent is concerned minimal to none.( I didn’t buy it for its scent).

Cette Eau en lotion après-rasage à la racine de maca et aloe vera de The Body Shop est une véritable pépite ! Elle apaise parfaitement la peau après le rasage, hydrate sans laisser de film gras et laisse une agréable sensation de fraîcheur. La composition naturelle avec la racine de maca et l’aloe vera est un vrai plus. Cependant, le gros point faible reste le flacon… Il est vraiment difficile de faire sortir le produit : il faut secouer plusieurs fois, ce qui complique le dosage. C’est frustrant pour un produit aussi efficace. Message au fabricant : votre lotion est exceptionnelle, mais un flacon plus pratique ferait toute la différence. Avec un meilleur packaging, ce serait sans doute la meilleure lotion après-rasage sur le marché !
