I bought this because I messed up the install on my first replacement. I decided to spend more and get a better product. First thing I wish to address are the tools. The tools are way better and magnetic. The cheaper set had horrible tools that were not magnetic and the Y tip gave me issues with the touch button screws. I also loved the two water proof tape seals. The cheap set I accidently ripped the only tape seal that came with set (not the reason for replacement) and I ended up doing the same with the first tape seal that I used on this one. I gave me some practice though and the second one went on smoothly. I like that the back plate was already installed as I forgot to swap it over the first time (the reason for second replacement). Everything works. There are no spots. I did swap over the finger button from the original and kind of wished this one had some tape or glue to hold the strip down like the original, but I can live with that issue as the button is secured in with the metal strip.

Edited to add: EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE. I admit, I can get frustrated with the Amazon returns, and so I didn’t both trying to return my product. The company reached out to me after my review and provided me with a refund. It was completely unexpected and I am blown away that they would offer to do that as a company. If you have product difficulty, reach out to them. They’re very reasonable and stand by their product. Bumped up from 1 to 3 stars because even though my product didn’t work properly, their customer service is a 5. Original Post: My refurbished iPhone came with a super weird raised screen which was making the screen crack so ridiculously easily. I thought a screen replacement would help. It didn’t. The thumb button fell off the next day.. the phone worked for a few days but then just died and wouldn’t turn back on. I just gave up on that phone and got a new one.

Its fine that the TouchID doesn’t work but the screen itself is also barely workable. Phone is now overheating and barely recognizing any touch interactions.

Front camera does not work Update: received a full refund even after return date after receiving a message from the company, so I changed my review from 1 star to 5. That was very nice

I purchased the Iphone 8 touchscreen to replace a previously replaced screen. The previous screen I purchased was much cheaper, but did not include the touch button or the camera/speaker assembly. I figured I would save myself some trouble this time by purchasing an all-in-one drop in replacement. After replacing my screen with this one, I got a message stating that touch ID could not be used. I figured this was probably due to the protective cover I hadn't removed, but that was not the case. I decided I really didn't need the touch capability that much (in hindsight, I was wrong) so I just decided to forget about it for the time being. Then, I think after an IOS update, I started getting the home button assistance button popping up on my screen. To make a long story short, because this replacement unit uses a 3rd party touch button, it is not recognized by IOS and so the software tries to be helpful by giving you access to what they believe is a non functioning button (even though mine was working for everything except ID). There is no way to turn off this feature as it is hard coded in due to the non Apple button. This caused a lot of frustration, but I really didn't want to have to take the phone apart again so I decided to just deal with it. Then, a few days later, the screen started receiving phantom button presses and apps would start opening up on their own and all kinds of problems occurred because of this. The only way to stop it was a reboot of the phone. This is when I decided I needed to get a replacement. This is where the two stars comes from (instead of one). I put in a request for a replacement part and within a day I had it in hand. Just as before, I got the "touch ID not available" error. This time, because I still had my original Apple touch button, I swapped it out and that fixed the problem. However, two days after installing the replacement screen, I started getting phantom touch occurrences again. Had to reset the phone to stop it. If you are trying to replace a cracked screen, and it is your original screen, I'd say go with one of the other options out there that are just the screen. There are sub $25 dollar options here on Amazon. The only thing to be leery of is the screen colors. The previous one I had, seemed like the hues of the colors were off and screen display didn't look like the factory one. This product works - kinda - and I would definitely recommend swapping, at the very least, the touch button if you have the original.
