Really good, works well and great quality.
The FIDECO M.2 enclosure allows you to connect an M2 NVMe drive directly to a USB 3 or USB 2 port on your computer (or other devices). Opening the package it immediately becomes obvious that the weight and feel of the enclosure is of good quality. The chassis is manufactured from aluminium (anodized) and the door mechanism has a nice 'click' to latch it closed. The NVMe drive is easy to install and completely toolless - just slide the drive in and close the door to secure. Connection to the enclosure is with a USB type 'C' cable which is included within the box with an adapter to convert to USB 3. (it'll be compatible with USB 2 and older, but will run a lot slower of course). The speed is very good on USB 'C', it won't match the same speeds as if the NVMe was installed directly onto the motherboard due to limitations of the USB 'C' controller, but is still very quick none the less. The FIDECO has a sticky heat transfer pad in the box that can be attached to the lid or base of the enclosure to help dissipate the any heat generated from the drive chips, also included are some small rubber stand-ups that will insert into holes in the bottom of the enclosure - to be honest I found these too tall and decided not to use them as they appeared to place the NVMe board under stress when the cover was closed. Overall I'm very happy with the performance, quality and connectivity of the FIDECO enclosure - plug it in and it works exactly like you'd expect a normal USB drive. I'd certainly recommend this product as it works perfectly.

Simple to use, fast speeds, and runs reliably
This enclosure works exactly the way you want it to. Installing the NVMe drive was quick, and the tool-less design actually works without any fiddling. Once connected, the enclosure shows up instantly and delivers the speeds you’d expect from a USB 3.2 Gen 2 device. Transfers feel snappy and consistent, without random disconnects or throttling. The casing stays warm but never worryingly hot, even during longer file transfers. It’s compact enough to throw into a bag, and it feels sturdy enough for everyday use.

Excellent first impression
First great thing is it worked out of the box. The Full length NVMe (2280) fitted behind a rigid clip so it can't work loose!! - Great! Secondly it supports UASP which means the drive shows up as SSD not Hard Drive so you can use trim. [Nearly burned up the NVMe in a different enclosure - because it showed as HDD and not spotted and optimize was defragging the whole drive - not good!] Also I am using a Samsung NVMe and the Drive Magic works with this enclosure because UASP allows it to detect as Genuine Samsung drive - another bonus. Super fast - over 100MBytes per second (from a HDD - will be much faster SSD to SSD - preliminary test ~700 MBps) sustained and heat transfers well to the aluminium casing. My previous make enclosure was very difficult to fit because you had to try and slide the sheath cover over the thermal pad- rubbish.! Tis one hinges over and clips shut - great! Included USB-C to USB-C cable with built-in USB-Adapter another bonus if your machine does not have a USB-C socket! All-in-all great value for money! (Note : Shorter cards require a rubber plug. I had issues with these on a previous enclosure I have which allowed the NVMe to work loose and show up as faulty - no drive present.] Can't speak for this one though.

Great Performance, But Annoying Noise.
I’ve been using the FIDECO M.2 NVMe Enclosure with my Crucial P3 Plus (CT1000P3PSSD8), and overall, it performs well for my needs. Installation was a breeze since my drive is a 2280 form factor—it slots in without screws, held securely by the thermal pad and lid. The enclosure is made of aluminum alloy, which feels high-quality and sturdy, giving me confidence in its durability. The performance is solid, hitting USB 3.2 Gen 2 speeds as supported by my motherboard. With my Crucial P3 Plus, I’m getting read speeds around 998.59 MB/s and write speeds around 961.89 MB/s, which aligns with the expected 10 Gbps (1250 MB/s) theoretical max for USB 3.2 Gen 2, factoring in overhead. It supports UASP and TRIM, and the drive reports NVM Express 1.4 compliance with features like S.M.A.R.T. and VolatileWriteCache, ensuring efficient operation. I primarily use this SSD for storage and movie watching—no gaming—so these speeds are more than adequate for my use case. Temperature management is impressive. I swapped out the stock thermal pad for a high-performance grey silicone-based thermal pad with better thermal conductivity. Now, the drive idles at 34-36°C and hits 42-46°C under load, which is great for an NVMe enclosure. The aluminum build helps with heat dissipation, and I’ve had no thermal throttling issues during extended movie playback or file transfers. However, there’s a significant downside: the enclosure produces an audible high-frequency noise—sometimes a whirring, sometimes a beeping. In a typical setup, it might not be noticeable, but my environment is very quiet, and I’m particular about acoustics. This noise is incredibly irritating, especially during focused work or movie watching. Unfortunately, I only noticed this issue after the return window had closed, so I’m stuck with it. It’s a shame because, otherwise, this enclosure would be near-perfect for my needs. Overall, the FIDECO M.2 NVMe Enclosure delivers on performance, build quality, and thermals, but the high-frequency noise is a dealbreaker for quiet setups. Be cautious if you’re sensitive to acoustics like I am.

Low-price, excellent value for passively cooled enclosure.
Fast and solidly built tool-free enclosure, ideal for backing up media or cloning storage. The flip-open design is of a quality that can withstand most accidental drops or knocks. It has a single ball bearing housed in the lid as part of it's push and pull locking mechanism. This cannot spring open it must be pulled open manually. Inside you will see a plastic housing and everything is spaced out equally. The only heat dissipation I can see is a wide slit in the hinge, it seems to be enough, as I cloned a matched size SSD and it did not overheat plus I had not applied the thermal pad because I am likely to swap out storage capacity from time to time. The only LED is not much bigger than a pinhole next to the USB-C port and it flashes white when active or remains solidly lit. There are plastic gromits or screws included should you need to use shorter M or M&B key SSD's in the enclosure. You do get a USB-C to USB-C/A cable all are USB 3.2 Gen 2 compliant so expect at least 1000 MB/s read and write speeds or more over USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports, if you are lucky enough to have USB 4.0 motherboard then you will be one of the lucky ones to take advantage of your SSD's speed potential. In my opinion, this is one of the better-value passively cooled enclosures available. it is ruggedly built and slips into a pocket comfortably without fear of it bending. I would go as far as to say it is a robust enclosure that will take a lot of abuse and protect your valuable data. Definitely, worth the price, I recommend it.

Tool-free & compact NVMe enclosure, solid value
Excellent little enclosure. The tool-free design makes it really quick to install an NVMe drive — just slide it open, drop the SSD in with the rubber stand-off, and you’re ready to go. No screws, no hassle. Performance has been great on my USB 3.2 Gen 2 port, with fast and consistent transfer speeds. I’ve used it for large file copies and backups without a single disconnect or issue. It does get a bit warm during heavy use, but that’s normal for NVMe drives and the case itself seems to handle it well. Build quality feels solid and compact, so it’s easy to carry around in a bag or pocket. For the price, I think it’s fantastic value — simple, reliable, and does exactly what it’s supposed to. If you’ve got a spare NVMe drive you want to use externally, this is a perfect solution.

This Tiny Aluminum Sandwich Just Saved My Marriage and My Sanity
This Tiny Aluminum Sandwich Just Saved My Marriage and My Sanity – 11/10 Would Recommend to My Enemies Listen up, peasants. I bought this FIDECO thing because my old external HDD was moving files slower than my nan trying to text with autocorrect on. I slapped a 2TB NVMe in it expecting... idk... adequate performance? What I got was pure unadulterated SPEED DEMON ENERGY. First off, the "sandwich" design? Chef's kiss. It's like the enclosure said "screw boring rectangles, let's make this look like a high-tech Panini press that could grill your data if it gets too hot." Tool-free? More like tool-less wizardry. I opened it, gently placed my SSD like I was tucking in a sleeping kitten, closed the lid with a satisfying click that probably registered on the Richter scale, and boom — my computer immediately proposed marriage. Look at this glorious little beast: Transfer speeds? 10Gbps my foot — this thing hits numbers that make my wallet cry tears of joy. I moved 200GB of "totally legal Linux ISOs" in the time it takes to make a cup of tea, regret the cup of tea, and then finish the tea anyway .Pros: Feels like solid machined unobtanium in your hand Runs cooler than my ex's heart The hinge is so smooth I genuinely considered proposing to it instead Comes with cables longer than my attention span Cons:My regular USB sticks now look at me with betrayal in their little LED eyes Neighbors keep asking why my house smells like burning victory I named it "Speedy McZoomFace" and now I feel emotionally attached to an enclosure Bottom line: If you don't buy this FIDECO sandwich-shaped miracle, you're basically choosing to live in the slow lane of life while the rest of us are doing 200MB/s+ in the fast lane with the windows down and dubstep blasting.Buy it. Install your SSD. Feel alive again. You're welcome.Rating: ★★★★★ (and one extra star for the existential crisis it prevented) Would gift to my worst enemy so they finally know what real speed feels like. 10 web pages
