My grandsons favorite...
We bought these for our grandson to play with in his sandbox. They are much smaller than the pictures shown. But, he loved them! He carries all 4 around constantly. They are his favorites. I like the fact that they are metal. Very durable. Each vehicle does a different thing and he uses them all. Great learning tool. I would highly suggest this set of toys. He loves to play out side, and he always wants his little trucks.

Perfect for kids obsessed with construction.
My 4 year old nephew loves them. All he wants to play with is his construction toys. They seem well built and hardy enough to go through the ringer with a 4 year old. The friction motor on the toys was a bonus.

I have very mixed thoughts...
I have very mixed opinions about this set. On the one hand, the cab (and cab only) is made of metal alloy (die cast) on each truck. The parts that move like the ladders, move nice and easily and don’t catch on anything. The parts that turn around turn with just the proper amount of resistance and have that satisfying click to them. Each truck is different, and all have the forward friction powered front wheels which are made of rubber. On the other hand, the plastic used is on the cheaper side, the painted plastic to look like metal is overly shiny and looks super plastic-ey because of it, 3 trucks all have moving parts, but the tanker truck does not. The main problem about that, besides that it is the odd man out and lacks consistency with the rest of the set, is that it has pieces in a child’s eyes that look like maybe they should move or do something (the railings specifically) since they stick out a bit, and they don’t (move). I can see them easily snapping off and breaking. Then we have the faux pas of each truck showing a child to call “119” if needed. We teach our children as early as possible to call “911”, not “119”. The other thing is these are all written in English and American companies or toy brands will have American names on our vehicles. Since these are written in English, it would be nice to see the same pattern of an English name on them or the word “Emergency” or “Fire Truck”...something like that. These however have “Si pin” written across the top of each cab. That isn’t even the name of the manufacturer that makes / sells these. And lastly, only (as I stated before) the cab is die cast, the rest being that lower quality plastic I mentioned before. Only the front tires are made out of rubber. So you have a mix of good quality in the cabs and front tires, well thought out ideas and ergonomics in the way things move easily or with that satisfying click, lower quality to cheap plastic and paints, and plastic tires, American words but Chinese named, The encouragement to call for help in an emergency, but the wrong number - all for an exceedingly high price. The one reviewer said they were high (a week prior to my review) and they have gone up an additional $10 since. These will be fun for a while, but with such a mix of quality, one cannot be sure of how long that fun will last.
