Budget lenses are improving at a fast rate and the Meike is definitely up there with the best of them. The This AF 55mm f1.4 for Fujifilm has been great fun to use and is super-sharp! I've used it for portraits and street photography [especially at night] and had some lovely results. Keen to get the 33mm version too!

The lens is incredibly sharp at f1.4 and the colour reproduction is amazing. Autofocus is reliable considering how bad the Fujifilm is. Totally recommend for the price. Nothing can beat this

I shoot professionally with another brand, and use Fuji for my more fun and personal stuff. As such, I don't love the idea of spending a fortune on Fujinon lenses, especially considering so many of them are showing their age at this point. I watch and research lenses a lot, and saw people talking about how high of a quality this lens from Meike is and thought I'd give it a shot. I mean, for the price why the heck not? A couple of things I noticed about it: -The build and feel of this lens is shockingly premium. Everything about the lens just feels great in the hand, and it looks like Canon's pro lenses at a quick glance. Starting off great! -Straight out of the box (and again, I'm on a Fuji [X-T5 to be specific]), and attaching it to my camera to test it and I will say that I felt like the autofocus left quite a bit to be desired. It hunted a ton and seemed to struggle to actually focus quickly or accurately, let alone hold onto focus while tracking. Uh oh. That isn't great. -I looked online and saw that there was already a firmware update for this lens, and that firmware is said to be for autofocus performance. Great, let's try that! I have a Mac, and as such every time I connected the lens using several different cables the lens was never discovered or seen by my laptop. Crap. Looking on their website it says that Windows should be used for firmware updates instead of Macs. Double crap. It's also worth noting that the firmware file will kick back a warning that it's insecure when you go to download it. If you don't trust it, then you won't be able to update your lens. I tried several different attempts then on the only Windows laptop in the house, and it still wasn't being seen by the computer, AT ALL. At this point, I was getting irritated, but figured I'd try one last thing. The lens's port is USB-C, and as most laptops these days have USB-C ports I was trying every USB-C cable I had to no avail. Being that the lens doesn't come with a cable, I was a bit out of luck so far. I eventually, in one last effort, tried a random USB-C to USB-A cable, and ALAS! The lens was finally seen by the Windows computer. The firmware was finally updated, and the lens was like a completely different lens. The autofocus now is incredibly fast, very accurate, and the lens is SUPER sharp. Quite honestly, I can't really tell any difference in sharpness or quality between this lens and lenses that are multitudes more expensive. I've never used a Meike lens before this one, but if they're this high of quality I am absolutely going to try more in the future (and am actually looking at some for my Sony bodies now). Very impressive, and very worth the money ONCE YOU UPDATE THE FIRMWARE. As a quick last note, I did then use an adapter (usb-a to usb-c) so that I could connect the lens through the usb-a cable to my mac out of curiosity, and the lens was finally seen by the mac and I was able to update the firmware with my mac without any issues. So, moral of the story - you oddly may need a USB-C to USB-A cable to update the firmware. Thanks for reading!

Objectif lumineux par sa grande ouverture. Donne de jolis bokeh crémeux en portraits ou en proxi (photos de fleurs etc...) Qualité optique impeccable sur mon Fujifilm X-T5 avec capteur 40MPix L'autofocus semble aussi réactif que sur mes optiques originales. Du moins en photo (pas testé en vidéo que je ne pratique pas) La qualité perçue en termes de fabrication et finitions est plus que satisfaisante. Les bagues de mise au point et de diaphragme (crantée) ont une manipulation parfaitement agréable. Très satisfait de mon achat. Je recommande pour un usage amateur.

Being a Fuji user, I've been used to certain things. A metal build, an aperture ring, amazing colours and wonderful sharpness. I'm giddy to say this has all those things. But on top of that, it's super light and also focuses faster than any Fuji lens I know, including ones with a linear motor. Comparing to lenses in the same price range and focal length, I can't think of one with autofocus that has anywhere close to the build quality of this Meike. The delicious bokeh you get from this f1.4 lens, and at this price, is ridiculous. Something this price shouldn't have so many things going for it. And on an X-T5, I was worried it wouldn't resolve to the same level as newer Fuji lenses, but it has held up its own very well. It really feels like a too good to be true lens. It's just very versatile. Can get close up portraits and product photos as well as scenic shots with no visible chromatic aberration. I'm looking forward to doing a lot more portrait work and take this on a trip with me. I don't think I'll be taking it off the camera anytime soon.

La FOCALE è pari a 55 mm, equivalente a 82,5 mm su full frame, l'APERTURA è di 1.4 e non è presente la STABILIZZAZIONE, mentre la MESSA A FUOCO avviene tramite stepper motor. Il DIAMETRO FILTRI è pari a 52 mm, e l'obiettivo che è non è TROPICALIZZATO, ha un PESO di 286 grammi. Design e Costruzione A prima vista, il design dell’obiettivo, con il suo anello rosso, sembra ispirarsi alla serie Canon L, con il corpo che presenta una finitura opaca, studiata per non trattenere le impronte, forse non pienamente in armonia con l’estetica Fuji. La costruzione alterna plastica, simile a quella degli obiettivi Sigma, al metallo, presente sugli anelli di apertura e messa a fuoco. Non si ha affatto la sensazione di un prodotto economico poiché l’innesto si aggancia perfettamente alla baionetta e tutte le parti mobili sono ben assemblate, senza giochi. Unico piccolo inconveniente è rappresentato dal paraluce in plastica, che richiede un pò di attenzione per essere avvitato correttamente. Un dettaglio interessante è dato dalla presenza di una levetta per passare dalla messa a fuoco automatica a quella manuale. La caratteristica che farà maggiormente breccia nei cuori degli appassionati del marchio Fuji, è senza dubbio l’anello per la selezione dei diaframmi, con ogni passo ben definito da un “clic” e con la giusta resistenza. Ottima notizia per i fotografi, forse meno per i videomaker. La baionetta è in metallo e si aggancia perfettamente alla fotocamera, inoltre, include una porta USB tipo C per aggiornare il firmware. Degna di nota la già citata guarnizione rossa in gomma che circonda la parte posteriore, un dettaglio che aiuta a proteggere l’interno dalla polvere. Sebbene non sia una lente tropicalizzata, è raro se non impossibile trovare questa accortezza costruttiva negli obiettivi appartenenti alle stessa fascia di prezzo. Qualità dell'Immagine Il Meike è molto nitido, gestisce bene i riflessi indesiderati, offre uno sofcato piacevole ed è praticamente privo di difetti ottici evidenti. La nitidezza è eccellente al centro già alla massima apertura. In un teleobiettivo corto per ritratti, dove i soggetti si trovano quasi sempre nella zona centrale, questo è un grande vantaggio. Chiudendo a f/2 e f/2.8, si ottiene un leggero miglioramento della risoluzione, ma già a f/1.4 il livello di dettaglio e contrasto è più che sufficiente. Sugli angoli, a f/1.4 si nota una leggera perdita di nitidezza, ma senza effetti eccessivamente evidenti come in altri obiettivi economici. Chiudendo di un paio di stop, si raggiunge uniformità su tutto il fotogramma. Le aberrazioni cromatiche sono ben controllate, con solo lievi sfumature verdi e viola in alcune transizioni di sfocatura, visibili solo con un ingrandimento al 100%. Anche obiettivi più costosi soffrono di questo problema, quindi il Meike si comporta molto bene. A f/1.4 la vignettatura è visibile solo in alcune situazioni, ma non compromette l’uso pratico, mentre a partire da f/2.8 diventa quasi impercettibile. La distorsione è minima: si nota solo una leggera curvatura a barilotto, tipica di questa lunghezza focale, ma non richiede correzioni in post-produzione. Nonostante il prezzo accessibile, il Meike 55mm f/1.4 si comporta bene contro i riflessi indesiderati. Solo con la luce diretta del sole, specialmente senza paraluce, si possono notare alcuni fenomeni di flare, ma sono facilmente evitabili cambiando leggermente angolazione o correggendoli in post-produzione. Luminosità Grazie all’apertura f/1.4 e alla lunghezza focale, questo obiettivo, grazie alle nove lamelle, crea sfondi sfocati con un’eccellente tridimensionalità. Tuttavia, la forma dei punti luce fuori fuoco si deteriora verso i bordi del fotogramma, creando un effetto meno armonioso rispetto agli obiettivi più costosi. Vale la pena ricordare che il Meike 55mm f/1.4 ha una distanza minima di messa a fuoco di 60 cm, un limite per chi vuole fotografare soggetti molto piccoli da vicino, tuttavia, il livello di dettaglio è comunque ottimo. Le aberrazioni cromatiche sono ben controllate, con solo lievi sfumature verdi e viola in alcune transizioni di sfocatura, visibili solo con un ingrandimento al 100%. Anche obiettivi più costosi soffrono di questo problema, quindi il Meike si comporta molto bene. Autofocus e Velocità di Scatto L’autofocus è silenzioso, veloce e affidabile. In condizioni di luce normale, la velocità di messa a fuoco è paragonabile a quella degli obiettivi Fujinon più recenti. Si nota qualche esitazione solo in controluce intenso o in condizioni di scarsa luminosità, situazioni in cui non può competere con l’eccellente Fujinon XF 50mm f/2 R WR, davvero molto affidabile. Video Nei video, con soggetti vicini ed in rapido movimento ci possono essere problemi di focus breathing, mentre se sono statici o lontani e si spostano lentamente non ho riscontrato alcun problema, tenendo presente che è sempre preferibile utilizzarlo con i corpi stabilizzati. Uso Pratico e Portabilità Ho portato questo obiettivo con me in varie situazioni quotidiane, e la sua praticità si è rivelata un vantaggio non di poco conto. Peso ed ingombro ridotti non sacrificano troppo la qualità dell’immagine, con una nitidezza molto buona. In generale devo dire che non ci sono grandi problemi, a meno che non si voglia esaminare ogni pixel nel dettaglio. Conclusioni Per il suo prezzo, lo consiglio ai fotografi alle prime armi o a chi vuole esplorare la fotografia di ritratto. Tuttavia, può essere utilizzato anche per fotografia di strada e documentaristica. Il mercato offre ormai diversi obiettivi per ritratti di terze parti, ma ciò che rende questo Meike 55mm f/1.4 davvero molto interessante sono l’apertura f/1.4, la presenza dell’anello dei diaframmi ed il prezzo accessibile. Anche se la distanza minima di messa a fuoco è un pò elevata, Meike ha fatto un ottimo lavoro per quanto concerne la qualità ottica e la velocità di messa a fuoco, offrendo ai fotografi amatoriali un’opzione economica ma di qualità.
