We purchased our first 12oz Wide Mouth Hydro Flask over two years ago, and it’s been nothing short of amazing. This bottle has survived daily use by a very active toddler and still looks almost brand new. The durability and quality of these bottles are truly impressive, making it worth every penny.As we prepared for the new school year, we decided it was time for an upgrade, especially with the introduction of some exciting new colors. My child was thrilled to pick out a fresh one, and I have to say, the new designs are vibrant and fun.However, I did notice that the newer model (purple) seems slightly smaller than our original (mint), even though both are labeled as 12oz. It’s not a deal-breaker by any means, but it’s something worth mentioning. I’ve included a picture of both bottles side by side so you can see the difference for yourself.Overall, I highly recommend the 12oz Hydro Flask for kids. It’s durable, easy to clean, and keeps drinks at the perfect temperature for hours. Whether it’s for school, sports, or everyday adventures, this bottle has been a reliable companion.

This is our favorite water bottle to date for our toddler and we have tried them all!Leakage: Let me preface by saying our little guy is 2.5. This is important because it advertises for 3 and up. The cup will leak if the straw portion of the cap is left open and the bottle is full and tips over, so if your child doesn’t quite understand to close the lid you may end in some frustration but he has been capable of remembering to shut it since 2. We loved our contigos that didn’t leak but the reason we switched was cleanliness.Cleanliness: this is where this water bottle in particular takes the cake. We have tried the plastic Contigo and the stainless steel Contigo, and while we loved each of those for different reasons in different seasons of his growth, it was impossible to keep the lid and mouthpiece completely clean and mold free. Nothing is more frustrating than using the tiniest of brushes and toothbrushes to try and clean a cap and nothing seems to work. This one is so simple and has minimal parts and crevices to clean. The straw is easily removed, the rubber ring is easy to remove, and the plastic mouthpiece is much easier to clean than the rubber ones. Hallelujah! The rubber on the bottom is easily removed to clean underneath.Durability: So far it has survived some falls from the dining table and countertops, sliding around on our wooden deck and we have no scratches or dents! I for sure thought he would have caused some damage by now but I’m very impressed with the strength of this bottle! The rubber bottom seems to make a differenceGrip: East for little hands! Our son particularly likes to hold the loop that is on the cap, but the bottle is slim enough for little hands to easily hold it while drinking and the rubber on the bottom adds additional grip so it’s not sliding through hands and falling.
