HPColor Laserjet Pro MFP 3301sdw Wireless All-in-One Color Laser Printer, Scanner, Copier, Best-for-Office (499Q3F)

After my old inkjet finally gave up the ghost (and after spending way too much on replacement cartridges over the years), I decided to make the jump to laser. Did a bunch of research and landed on this HP Color Laserjet Pro - honestly, wish I'd made the switch sooner.Setup was pretty straightforward, though the wireless connection took a couple tries to get right. Nothing too frustrating, just had to restart my router once. The HP Smart app walked me through most of it. Once it was connected, printing from my laptop and phone has been seamless.The print quality is really impressive - colors are vibrant without being oversaturated, and text is crisp. I mainly use it for client presentations and occasional family photos, and both look great. The speed is a huge upgrade from my old printer too. What used to take forever now prints in seconds.Scanner works well for documents, though the photo scanning is just okay - not amazing but gets the job done for basic stuff. Copy function is handy for quick duplicates without having to mess with my computer.Only minor complaints: it's definitely bigger than my old printer, so make sure you have the desk space. Also runs a bit warm when printing a lot of pages, but that seems normal for laser printers. The toner cartridges aren't cheap, but they last way longer than inkjet cartridges did.Overall really happy with this purchase. It's been reliable for about 6 months now with zero paper jams or connection issues. Would definitely recommend if you're looking for a dependable color laser for home office use.

Love this printer. It was super easy to set up, prints quickly and the clarity is to notch. The ink seems to last a long time, though I'm not sure how long. I've been getting the message that a couple of the inks are running low for several weeks now, but have been able to keep printing away. Will update once I know for sure.

This printer arrived with a broken automatic document feeder. I took it apart, reassembled it, and the ADF started working again. Annoying, but fixable if you are comfortable reassembling printer parts. I did notice the scans done via the ADF were sometimes stretched at points, indicating the ATF rollers weren't completely grabbing the paper. Great.Then the firmware wouldn't update. The self test reported the network connection was working, and I could print to the printer via the network, so I knew the network was good. But it wouldn't download the firmware when the printer was connected via ethernet. I had to remove ethernet, switch to Wi-Fi, let the firmware update fail once, before it finally worked the second try on Wi-Fi.Then, the scan to network folder wouldn't work. Frustratingly, there is no error message. The "scan" button is just greyed out. Okay, HP gives you a utility in the printer's web interface to verify it can connect to the network folder. This step passes. Scan button is still greyed out. No network scans over ethernet.For kicks, I tried doing a network scan over Wi-Fi. This worked! Maybe this would be alright if the Wi-Fi didn't intermittently reconnect. (the printer boasts that it will automatically reconnect to Wi-Fi. The fact they have to advertise this is suspect... maybe put a better NIC in these printers??)I'm at my wit's end with this printer and I've only had it for 2 hours. A printer shouldn't take this much troubleshooting to get set up. This one is going back to Amazon.

The printer is easy to use and produces high quality prints and scans. I can print from several devices after the straightforward setup. It also works quickly even when it needs to wake up after not being used at night. I am very pleased.

would have considered 5 stars - HOWEVER there are a couple of issues. When printing a large (say 100 pages) document with color images the buffer seems to get overloaded - solution is to print 20 pages at a time. It takes a little longer but the duplexing makes it palatable. Occasionally we get errors that the paper tray is "empty in all trays" but there is only one tray and it doesn't like to get loaded with too much paper. Overall excellent HP print and scan quality.

I purchased the HP Color LaserJet Pro 3301sdw. I chose to buy a used printer from the HP Store instead of a new printer. The HP printer is awesome! Setting up the connectivity to my WiFi network was the easiest setup of any printer I have owned. I downloaded the HP Smart app for MacOS to setup the scanner. The HP Smart app is easy to follow and the scanner works perfectly. Another aspect I really like about this HP printer is the small footprint. It is much smaller than previous Multi-Functional Printers. The HP printer has a clean, slim design and it operates quietly. Highly recommend this HP MPF for small office or a busy family.
