This biltong cabinet is so well made and accurate, with everything I need to make my first batch of Biltong. Really easy to set up and operate, even came with a great recipe book for Biltong, jerky, etc. I’m looking forward to trying other recipes now, especially the sweet and spicy bacon jerky. The price is quite expensive, but I’m glad we bought this one as it makes things very easy. Update 11/8/24… you must try the Bacon Jerky in the included recipe booklet (back page) . It’s absolutely DELICIOUS!

Our Dehydrator works great. Used at least once a week.

So basically this is a dehydrator that has been modified to work like a biltong box. I think the idea is excellent and it works well, plus you get the best of both worlds. It also looks good (unlike home made ones) and will fit in any room. It was pretty quiet. I was able to fit about 2KG (4.4 lbs) of meat in this machine without being over packed. I had large slabs and a couple of smaller pieces. The smaller pieces took 2-3 days to be ready (I like medium to dry biltong). The larger pieces took about 5 days. Note, the ones at the back closer to the fan dry quicker in my experience. Overall, really like this biltong box and feel like it was worth it. Really like the biltong book that came with it and the hooks for hanging are perfect. Some things I would like to see change: 1) it would be nice if the box could run for a few days without needing to reset the timer every 24 hours. Not a big deal if you are at home and the box is in an easy place to reset but if you go away for a couple days it would be a problem. 2) would be nice if there was some sort of clip or something to keep the hanging bars in place, they easily fall out and it’s a mission to put them back when the box is fully packed. Overall as is, I still give it 5 stars as it does what it promises and more.

Does what it says on the tin. Already used to dehydrate fruit and made a delicious batch of droewors I have no issue with the timer being 24 hours as I personally would check on the contents daily anyway and it is 2 seconds to set again. Highly recommended.
