The price is right
The price is what got me. I buy these mini foods all the time. So when I saw this set I had to get it. Well worth the price.

Alright
We had to use glue to get the shelves to stay together and now it looks bad. The books are cute but split easily.

Miniature bookcases and books.
This was cute in the dollhouse for grandchild. Also can be used as a mini library for tiny calico critters or mini teddy bears to go to.

Ony enough books to fill 1 unit
These are cute little bookshelves for dollhouses or dioramas. I use it for my Barbie's children's room. Which is 1/6 scale, but since it's for children the size works because Chelsea is about 6 inches tall. My one complaint is that there are only enough books to fill 1 shelf unit (3 shelves) when put on a shelf normally, with the spine facing out. Also, there is no printing/book title, which reduces the realism. You can spread the books across more she units (there are 4 bookcases total) if you lay them flat, as if they are in a shop. But nobody actually stores their books like this.I think this set would be better if it came with 64 books and just one bookshelf for a slightly lower price. 4 bookshelves are awkward to use.

Four adorable bookcases in 1:12 scale
The bookcases don't come with assembly instructions, but luckily they're each packaged separately, so it's simple to figure out which tabs go in which slots. The wood is pretty thin, but it seems to be sturdy. I was pushing pretty hard at times getting the tabs to go fully into the slots, and nothing broke. It's also smooth wood, so no splinters. As I mentioned above, it does take some pushing to get the tabs into the slots at times, but it's doable. I'd consider myself of average physical strength, so I don't think that would be a problem. If you line up the books like you would on a real bookcase (where they're standing vertically, spines facing outward), they can fill up one bookcase in its entirety. The books aren't totally uniform, some sticking out a little further than others, and some of the corners got creased in transit. But that's how a real bookshelf looks anyway. As you can see in the photos, there are also some duplicate books; I like imagining those are part of a series, or if you use them for a 1:12 bookstore or library, they could be multiple copies. My favorite thing about the books is that they actually have pages. Nothing is written inside but I just love that they have real pages. Also, since there's no coating on the wood, you can paint them if you want to (with acrylic paint or similar). If you want them to have the natural wood, it's an even color and looks nice that way too.

adorable!
These look just like the photos. Lots of tiny books to fill the shelves! The bookshelves went together quickly and easily - just a few clicks into place. A fun addition to desks, bigger bookshelves, near plants, and in dollhouses.
