I hesitated to purchase a large amount of this from some of the negative reviews, but decided to take a chance...I am writing this review to help dispell some of the negative reviews listed here. I use shea butter A LOT! I make my own beauty products (face cream, green healing cream, magnesium cream, etc.) and I use shea butter in all of them. This product was very creamy and easily melts. It is true, unrefined shea butter...the smell is natural, and there may be small bits of "shell" every now and then because it is UNREFINED! You get all the benefits of shea butter when it is not refined and no chemicals are used if it is unrefined. It is easy to remove any impurities after it is melted...just pour it through a fine sieve or cheesecloth and they will easily sift out. I ordered 5 lbs and it was only wrapped in plastic film, but I keep it in the original bag and cut off what I need with a knife, rewrap it, and store it in a cool, dark drawer. This is a wonderful product at a really reasonable price and it arrived in a timely manner. I am very pleased with this product and I will order 10 lbs. next time...

I just received this Shea butter and I wanted to weigh it to make sure that the weight of 5 pounds as advertise was not misleading I have not opened the butter yet, so I cannot speak to the quality of the product but for now I am impressed with the fact that it actually weighed 5 pounds or more as advertised. It also shipped pretty fast. it has a very rich smell, which I was expecting because it’s unrefined. I am going to use this in my skincare product as well as my hair product. I will come back with a quality review.

Love this large block for all my various needs. I also like that it is pure Shea! Definitely will be buying it again soon!

Packaging isnt the best but the product is good

I've bought shea butter bricks before but I guess when this said 5 pounds I was not expecting it to be so huge! Lol. If you use shea butter constantly I would definitely recommend this particular one as you pay much less per oz. and you get a whole giant.
