The Best Garden Lights
Purchased these lights after extensive reviews. They are certainly lights and not markers as the small ones sold very where. I have been using them on the 10 hour setting, where they operate for about 6 hours, this being the time it gets dark to the time it gets light at this time of the year. I have tried the 6 hour setting, but the light output seems only slightly higher, with only 4 hours of operation. On the 10 hour setting ther is still some charge left in the battery, which helps on dull days. The Battery used in these lights is Lithium Phosphate, which an output of only 3.2 volts compared to the normal 3.7 volts for normal Lithum Batteries. It also requires a special charger which is not available in this country yet. I cannot find one other than on American sites. Do not attempt to charge the battery in a normal charger or you will ruin it. The benefit of these type batteries is that they will last about 2000 charge cycles(7-8 years), compared with normal cell of about 500 cycles. I would suggest the lights are used from March to October as otherwise the batteries will never fully charge. The pool of light is about 8 feet in diameter, so 4 light would safely light a 40 foot footpath. I have already ordered another 2 lights. I have now purchased a further two lights. All the metal work is Stainless Steel, including the piece which pushes into the ground , so they should not rust. When the Sun is on them all day i am now achieving over 8 hours of light between dusk and dawn on all the lights. The light controller must be accurately set as all the lights turn on in a 2 minutes period.

Excellent garden light, quality product, recommended – with one gripe
This Duracell garden light features a photosensitive cell which charges a small battery under direct sunlight, then automatically switches at sunset to give out the light through small LEDs (light emitting diodes) until the battery is exhausted. In the early hours it goes dark, to repeat the cycle again when the sun rises. The tech is similar to a solar-powered pocket calculator, though the LEDs in the garden lights are obviously brighter. They are most effective in summer when the daytime sun is brighter, sunset is later, and you’re more likely to spend time in the garden during the evening. There are several designs of solar-rechargeable garden lights on the market. Here’s my brief experience of this one by Duracell.• The product is well designed and manufactured from good quality materials• It always works straight out of the box (we now have four in different parts of the garden and they all work 100%)• The photo-charging cell is on the flat top, the best place to get the sun• The ground spike is engineered from strong metal with four ‘wings’ to enhance stability when implanted; it’s easy to push into soft soil or a large earth-filled pot, but more of a challenge into gravel or stony ground• It looks cool• The illumination is surprisingly bright for a solar-powered unit• They seem to be storm-proof, as several downpours have not affected their working and strong winds have failed to disturb any of themThe gripe:• There are two settings: 6 hours and 10 hours; the settings are adjusted by a 3-way switch accessed by unscrewing the top. On neither setting does the light last more than three hours, and it’s usually no more than two before it goes dark. Admittedly the light is bright and when exposed to more than 12 hours of sunlight, the battery may hold more charge – but the ‘6 hours’ and ’10 hours’ settings are BS.Despite the failure to illuminate for more than three hours, this is a quality item and when you consider the price and durability, well worth the money and not likely to be a purchase you’ll regret.

Bright solar garden lights
These lights are great for your garden. They are much brighter than most standard solar lights and if the weather is even quite bright during the day, the light lasts for a good few hours after dark. Even on a gloomy day they will come on for a couple of hours. They come with a sturdy post that sticks into the ground.

Wow! SO bright!!
So simple to set up. Extremely bright! It's fab! Only downside is the post is very short compared to my previous solar lights, I've had to put it in a plant pot to give it a bit of height and show it off. Can't rate on battery life as only had a few weeks.

The names says it... SOLar, i.e. needs sun, not light
Superb garden pathway by Duracell. They re the ultimate reference in batteries, and they do not disappoint with this product. Very sturdy and easy to set up. Works well.ButThe limitation, like an other such items, is that the cells need SUN to recharge. Daylight is not sufficient. So can be a bit frustrating. Now in November in Kent, UK, the battery charges enough for approximately 1 or 2 hours use. So not recommended to illuminate a pathway during autumn/winter month unfortunately.Otherwise super.

Failed after 1 night
Unfortunately, we were thwarted by the solar light. It's easy to set up out of the box. Comes in 3 pieces and needs to be briefly assembled. (Watch out for the spike hiding in the packaging as I nearly missed it) Instructions are brief. Allow it to be in the sun and get a charge up. There is no on and off switch but you can control the duration setting. As you can see from the picture on the first night we got a lovely glow. It does give off a rather unusual stripey pattern instead of a fixed glow. However on the second and subsequent nights it has failed to light up at all. Very disappointing.

Fantastic and stays bright well into the night
Great and long lasting. But I need a replacement battery for the one I bought previously last year!

High quality solar garden lights
These are really high quality and bright as feature lighting around my patio. So much better than all the ones I have had from garden centres over the years. Could do with less packaging ...
