First I used it to retrieve 2 rods and reelsThen using it to pull limbs and brush down a steep bank

Used this for the first time to snag some cattail roots from my pond. It snagged some & I started to retrieve it. About 3' from the shore everything let loose. It let loose because the metal shaft bent almost 90 degrees rendering the item useless. Sent pictures to the seller & they insisted I send it back to them for evaluation. The pictures showed everything but I am supposed to find new packaging, drive almost 30 miles one way to UPS or USPS & return so they can evaluate it. The pictures are graphic & descriptive. I told them I was not going to do that & their response was no refund without return & to enjoy the rest of my day.I will NEVER do business with this seller again. The product is total crap. A cattail root bent the "steel" shaft.I forgot to mention....the nylon rope had no damage. Apparently if you want or need a quality nylon rope, you can order this item. The nylon rope was stronger than the "quality" steel this disaster of a hook is made of. Buyer beware.

This grappling hook works great retrieving moss and pond weeds. I’m clearing a pond that has been neglected for decades. This tool allows me to reach several feet into the pond and drag vegetation to the side. Good weight and has 4 hooks. I made some adjustments to how the hooks attach and works even better for my purpose

Heavy duty grapple that will serve my needs well.
