Each lesson ends with an illuminating question-and-answer dialogue between Mukunda and students who have studied these lessons via email over the past several years. This provides the reader unique and diverse perspectives on what is sometimes experienced as an arcane and elusive subject. While Tantric Yoga may not appeal to everyone, this understandable book provides an opportunity to look behind the curtain that has veiled these mysterious and esoteric practices for thousands of years. Too advance for me.
this book is not meant for the totally- beginer- like me. its for those who bought the first book of its series and had an instructor. But if u had an instructor.....why buy a book by another instructor?

These 18 lessons are indeed transformational. Firmly grounded in the spiritual and with full respect and deep understanding of the journey to sattvic or a neutral state of being, Mukunda Stiles provides clear and accessible guidance to releasing "self-limiting thoughts, emotions, and energetic patterns that bind you." Tantric Yoga focuses on developing our awareness of our mind and prana (energy).. The first lessons deepen our self-knowledge and establish our individual, personal practice. It is profoundly healing because it allows for the expression of suppressed emotions. These lessons can be completed with or without a spiritual partner and with different levels of intimacy. I was fortunate enough to receive guidance and support by Mukunda during the many times I engaged and re-engaged with these lessons. And now, I find myself in a place that is more serene and more peace ... better able to enjoy life more fully.

Easy to Read and informative
After several years of Hatha yoga asana I discovered the slightly more arcane Kundalini style. From there I began exploring the Tibetan style which focuses more on kriya and energy than the yoga I did at the gym. I've also tried Dahn yoga. Naturally I was drawn to this book. I found it easy to read and informative. I like the way Mr. Stiles discusses the connection between the chakras and the koshas. My roommate, however, got quite leery as he had never heard chakras discussed this way before. So I will own that if you have really set ideas on chakras, energy and yogic philosophy maybe you won't like this book as much as I did. Here's where I'm at with Chakras: no one has ever seen them on an MRI or Xray machine. No one can seem to agree on how many there are or what color. So for myself, whenever I start studying a new-to-me yoga style I am willing to accept for purposes of discussion the definition of "chakra" that the style is employing. This is a great beginner book, which is exactly what I wanted. I'm on lesson 6 and I find my energy awareness is much more acute.
