Awesome handheld for the price, great for beginners
Great little entry-level handheld and quality for the price. I'm not all that tech savvy so was a little intimidated at first, but did some research/watched some YouTube videos to figure out how to load more games on which ended up being very easy! It's a powerful little device for what it is; some of the PS1 games like God of War make it struggle a bit, but I loaded a bunch of N64 games on which perform perfectly. The biggest complaint people have is the included SD card is low quality and apparently dies quickly over time. Given that the first thing I did was buy a SanDisk SD card, and easily copied the stock operating system over to the new card. You cannot go wrong for the price, I didn't want to go all in and get an expensive Steamdeck or other pricey handheld as a beginner, though I'm sure you get what you pay for. It seems very durable, the battery life is pretty impressive for what it does, and outside of it freezing a couple times I've had zero issues (there is a reset button on the side which restarts it right away). Definitely would recommend, it's small and portable, ideal for travel or anytime you might have a quick break and want to play a quick game. There are tons of ROMs out there and I basically downloaded all my favorite childhood games bringing back tons of nostalgia. 5 stars for sure!

Decent for it's price range. 3rd party firmware is a must.
Typical Anbernic quality here, so that is to say...it's excellent when compaired to its other class competitors (Miyoo is a clear exception with the Miyoo Mini/Plus devices which...as of yet...have not been dethroned as the GOAT of retro handhelds)Another H700 system from Anbernic. This one already has TONS of 3rd party custom firmware options and they're all largly better than the "stock" firmware from Anbernic. The stock firmware can get the job done, but if you're a tinkerer, then go 3rd party on this. You'll be happier. On the other hand, if you're not a tinkerer, then go with a Miyoo Mini/Plus device and load OnionOS on it, or buy it from a seller who ships it with OnionOS already onboard. This can handle all systems from the inception of gaming and all the way through PS1 with flawless performance. You can also get a sold emulation of most Dreamcast games and less than flawless emulation of N64 (which kinda sucks just from the input perspective). Even if you get an N64 game to emulated well (which is totally possible), it's my opinion that the game still will "stink" because the control scheme is "weird" on these style devices.Anyways...Verdict: Excellent device that strikes a balance between "pocketability" and power (if you're not compairing it to the Miyoo Mini Plus that is...you can't beat that one by a long shot). Perfect emulation upto PS1 and a solid Dreamcast showing. Strong support for 3rd party firmware. Not for non-techie people.

Retro games without the retro experience.
In order to play games you have to download games into the SD card. The SD card that came with the unit was defective therefore it was stuck on the loading screen. Therefore I had to have a sd card and a pc handy. Never faced these problems with the original games it offered.

A bunch of retro games in this console !
A bunch of retro games in this console !, my husband was super happy with this cool console, the design is really great, I got the white transparent one, the screen size is quite large, and the controls are super simple, like any other game controller, the battery life is about eight hours, making it great for longer plane rides, we normally flight in between 2 hours and 12 hours when going over seas, it was amazing to find old games from the PSP! and PS1, great console for children and husbands :)

No hdmi connector
says it has hdmi port but it is actually a "MINI HDMI" port. In the usa it could be hard to find one of those in a store. And if you do connect it to a tv, you will find that the aspect ratio is wrong and cannot be adjusted in settings. I suppose retro systems are made for retro tvs, but since it stupidly uses a digital hdmi output it cannot be connected to a retro tv at all anymore so this is a bad "oversight" by the mfr. And I can't find a Bluetooth controller it will connect with. But as just a handheld game device it's great. My favorite is ps1, the first version of g t. It plays smooth and fast but did need tweaking in settings to boost resolution to make gages readable. I found so many games I remember from the arcade and atari too. But if you want something to play onto a big screen using good separate controllers, this may not work for you, it didn't work for me.

Ok!
It is okay, speakers crackle with most audio, lags at times with some games. It works and the screen is very good for this size 640x480 does the job. Lots of games!
