Studies show that cacao beans have higher antioxidant levels than blueberries, red wine and green tea. To preserve the complex flavour profile and health benefits, the beans are carefully harvested, washed with a mineral wash to disinfect them from any harmful contaminants and sun dried, never being exposed to damaging high temperatures. It used to be good!
This is my go to brand for natural un-fermented cacao beans and the product has been really good until the last two times I ordered it, and the beans were black as if burnt and also had a burnt taste to it. I have been a regular customer so I can make out the difference between two batches! Attached two pictures, one of the recent batch and online of the batch I ordered sometime ago.
