Pretty precise but expensive
I have several soldering stations now due to different types of work I am doing. This is a nice all in one bundle, but the price is definitely up there. It's super convenient to have both a tiny soldering tip and a hot air soldering tip to be able to pick and choose.I do like the hot air soldering tips that come with this because they are super small. Compared to my other hot air station where the hot air tips are much much larger and heat up a much larger area. This can localize air to a much smaller chip/area without heating the entire surrounding components.Quality feels good in most places.IF you are looking for an all-in-one type of unit this is decent kit that gives you quite a bit.

Dead on arrival, new one works
Dead on arrival. I haven't had this kind of experience in a very long time. Also a button was missing from the soldering handle. Sending it back and ordering a new one, hopefully it will work.Got the new one. It works! Upping the review 2 stars.

Handy Soldering Kit for Detailed Work
This kit makes soldering a breeze, especially for small electronics. The display helps keep track of everything, and having the hot air and soldering iron together saves time. It's easy to set up and use, with features that keep your tools in good shape. Great value item, with good funtion. Makes a perfect gift for Fathers Day, or any friend that enjoys doing some metal work.

I'm loving this!
I'm a retired electronics technician. Wanting to keep my brain healthy, I built an electronics bench in my attic. I design and build small electronic circuits around the Arduino microcontroller. I'm also the guy friends and family come to with their broken electronics gadgets. Point being I spend a lot of time desoldering and soldering. I used to struggle a bit here at home with that because I didn't have all that expensive equipment I had at my job. Especially their desoldering units. However THIS little jewel solved that. For only $430, you not only get a nice soldering station, but a hot air desolder tool as well. This will be a game changer here at home on my bench. It appears well made. The fit and finish is OK. So far the electronic display that tells you how it's set up, what temperature etc. has worked fine. It comes with various sizes for the hot air side, from a tiny one that really lets you fine tune where that hot air will go, to a huge 1/8 inch opening for melting a large patch of solder. It heats up fast and keeps to the exact temperature I have it set to. The controls are pretty intuitive. I did glance at the sparse instructions, basically one sheet of paper folded in half, but my point is that I really didn't have to.One little thing I found a little strange was a small bolt (see pic) that fell out of the left soldering iron holder. I'm assuming that was not intentional, but perhaps it got in there during packaging by mistake. There is no mention of this bolt in the instruction sheet, and I can't find anywhere on the unit where it would go. That said, this little jewel of a solder station will make a great addition to my electronics workbench here. I give this one five stars, especially at this price point, and highly recommend.

Impressive
I got this for my husband to use here on our farm and to help with his off farm repair work as well. It appears to be in really good condition, strong and durable. He was really impressed by how quickly and on command the iron and hot air were up to temp. They are both ready to go, instantly. He does more soldering than desoldering. He said the soldering iron was the best he’s ever worked with. He said it is nice that you can adjust the temperature and it keeps it where you set it at. He also appreciates how it goes to sleep in the holder but it’s ready to go when you pick it back up again. The controls are easy to use and figure out, which is good as the instructions provided are minimal. Oddly, there was an extra cable and screw in the box that weren’t mentioned in the instructions and he doesn’t know what they’re used for. He found the hot air pencil handy for shrinking Shrink tube. Overall he was pretty impressed with this and would buy again. Good value for price.

Great
I've used plenty of hot air rework stations, but I've never even heard of a hot air pencil. I'm also not sure I can ever go back. The big problem with hot air rework stations is that they tend to melt everything around the component you're working on. This gives you so much more control over where you're directing the heat. There's a very small envelope where you can even feel the heat, so you can concentrate it on the exact component you're working on.It comes with a variety in sizes of tips, so you can match the flow you want to the size of the component you're working on. It came with a 0.5 installed, and that was too small even for a fairly small 4mm component. I went right to the larger 4mm tip, and it came right off. I could've aimed for a smaller tip, so there's still some skill learning to do for me.It heats up fairly quickly, and the pump is very quiet. This is much more pleasant to use than a standard hot air station. The iron heats up to a point where I can melt solder as quickly as I can pull it out of the base. It also automatically goes to sleep when I put it up.Overall an incredible soldering station.Highly recommended.
