A new Sensor 😍😍❤️🔥
This Definitely is a new sensor. Compared to my friend’s 3 year old G300s with old logo, this one has much improved tracking and no errors at all. Forget 2500 DPi, even 1500dpi feels too fast in a speed mousepad. Much more comfortable than my g102 which exactly got haywire after 2 years (double click issue on g102 is a must😢). Recent models of G102s are even worse. So I went for G300S, and I am very very shocked. I use cosmic byte speed mousepad and this thing is on par with G102. Mercury sensor Inside g102 is too old, and I think this One has a modified locked down version of modern HERO sensor. 150 IPS.. and 20G acceleration.. good enough for even serious sessions. I play equally well in CS GO.. and much better in FORTNITE due to extra buttons..CONS- Slightly heating near the sensor, not uncomfortable. However I talked with Logitech care and they told it’s not something to worry about,Slightly stiff cables, again not a huge deal. I have seen worse from razer and steelseries at double or even triple the price.Scroll wheel is not as good as G102. It’s the only biggest con. Not the actual scrolling action, but the scroll wheel click button is mushy. All other buttons including dpi and left and right are excellent.RGB. It’s not true RGB.. no RGB effects. No breathing only, mode and dpi lights. No support for LOGITECH Ghub.. Only Logitech Gaming Software, but yes, Logitech Gaming Software is better because, it is lighter, and has nearly 99% of the functions, including personal scripting and coding with the mouse functions.WHY IS IT BETTER THAN G102?1) Better grip, better looks, better ergonomics.2) Much better Feet, actual PTFE feets as compared to rubbery plasticky mess on G1023) 3 profile memory as compared to only 1 on G102. So you can even set 3 profiles for the same game.4)Buttons5)Better durability.6)Cheaper.

End-Of-Life of my 6-year old G300s - A workhorse of a mouse !
Bought the Logitech G300s in mid-2016, it's been 6 years using the same unit - most buttons (6 out of 9) have now started double-clicking, thereby rendering it close to its 'End-Of-Life'. My G300s has been in 'daily low-to-moderate' - mostly for work and some light gaming (no button mashing involved). In an era of planned obsolescence, there are few devices that stand out. This is one of those rare durable ones (or maybe I'm just plain lucky this piece lasted so long for me!).Other reviewers have mentioned Pros & Cons better than me so I'll just stick to my experience instead of repeating their points ad nauseum.-- Middle Button Roller works perfectly fine even today.-- Mouse Cable felt plasticky and delicate at first, but has held up well for 6 years without any degradation of the insulating material around the wire.-- Rubber quality on the side is good overall - for 2-3 years of daily use; after that point the grooves start disappearing and become smooth instead of providing friction to your thumb and little finger.-- The mouse is great for ambidextrous use and ergonomic especially for claw grip holders. Palm grip can get slightly uncomfortable (for the little finger) especially when using the top reprogrammable buttons above Left Mouse Button (LMB) and Right Mouse Button (RMB).Coming to the primary Left Mouse (LMB) & Right mouse buttons (RMB), the LMB & RMB started no/double-clicking (the problem where mechanical switches start wearing out and a single-click by user either doesn't register or gets registered as double-click) approx. 2 years (mid-2018) since purchase, so the criticism by other users about 'double-clicking' LMB and RMB is valid. However, as I rarely used the remaining buttons, hence I could re-map 2 of the programmable G-Keys to LMB & RMB using Logitech Software easily. To avoid constantly launching bloatware 'Logitech Gaming Software', I simply saved the G-Key mappings to the mouse's memory once using that software and never had to launch it again. Those additional re-programmable buttons increased its effective lifespan by an additional 4 years up to today - at the cost of losing additional programmable functions - perfectly fine considering the VFM price.
