*Updated* Good case for TrueNAS/FreeNAS/UnRaid!
(I previously wrote a review that stated this case will not work with TrueNAS or similar, I was very wrong. Make sure to pass through disks correctly if virtualizing your NAS via Proxmox or similar ;) )This case is very good for such a small package! It came with plenty of cables for my 4x hard drives, and has a nice backplane with indicator LEDs to show which drives are connected and powered. My main gripe about this is how the LEDs are not visible from the right side where they are situated, as the right side panel is solid and not mesh like the motherboard side. You can probably swap these panels, but I opted for more airflow on the side closest to the CPU cooler. You can still see the hard drive indicator LEDs by pulling off the (very easy to remove) front panel! The airflow is also very good, especially if you buy some Noctua or similar fans in the right sizes (be sure to check the fan size requirements). There aren't many places to attach/secure cable bundles but there is plenty of space, and the cabling I received worked just fine, lengthwise. The mesh top and side panels show off my RGB CPU cooler just enough, as I wanted a minimal build, after all it was just intended to be a NAS and simple home server for media and Home Assistant. The USB and USB-C ports on the upper front of the case are very convenient for installing an OS via flash drive or plugging in a mouse/keyboard. The hard drives mount onto sleds via 4x screws each, and can easily be pulled out or pushed in.All in all, to have a case so compact and with a hot-swap backplane, is very nice for the price. I have TrueNAS Scale running great in this case, with an ASRock H670M-ITX motherboard, Intel i5 12600k CPU, an ID-Cooling IS-55 RGB CPU cooler, 32GB of Teamgroup T-Create DDR4 RAM, and a Sonoff Zigbee USB Hub Dongle-E for my smart bulbs, all purchased here on Amazon and all highly recommended :)It does what it's intended to do, very well, and while looking great.PS: I apologize for being mistaken previously. The backplane passes through SMART disk data/disk serial numbers perfectly fine. Hopefully this makes up for it :')
