Iron Rat/Mouse Trap Cage is a useful little device for all those homes where mice and rats are a constant trouble. If you are living in an area where rats are present and often enter your home then you must buy this versatile little trap. Iron Rat/Mouse Trap Cage is a small trap that can easily catch a mouse once the rat enters it. It captures the mouse inside quickly and then you an easily take the trap to a far off area and release the furry animal. If your home is prone to mouse excursions then this is a must have part of home utility for you. Features If you have a shop or a warehouse then you must be aware that mice can pose a huge problem if they enter your premises and cause havoc by biting and nibbling at your stuff. Thus, you must catch the mice and take them far away so as to prevent them from coming back. This trap is better than medicinal traps as they kill the mouse and this causes a stench and is also cruel. This trap however does not kill, it only captures.

Very poor product
Very flimsy product that is not good enough for catching rats. I have used the wooden cage based on the same principle of this one. It worked very well. When I say this particular product I thought since it is made in metal this must be much more stronger than a wooden cage. But to my big shock this was made of very thin metal and weightless. Even if we drop few times it could break or bend easily. In fact if the rat is little mightier it might break the door to escape. The makers should have made use of slightly better materials to make it into a long lasting product. The mechanism is fine but again suffers from the same problem of weak components. The spring used in this cage is just slightly bigger than a spring in a ball pen. The size is too small, only a tiny rats could be caught. One would require a rat cage to catch rats of any size not a one that is only meant for catching rats at their young age. OVERALL I COMPLETELY REJECT THIS PRODUCT AND DO NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE.Cons* Very thin metal components and will easily break if handled harshly or dropped on floor for few times* Too small to catch any normal size rats* Useless user manual* Poor design that may not always close when a rat enters.

Spring not strong enough for relatively larger rats
Is OK for catching mice (small) but definitely not meant for rats (relatively larger). The spring holding the hinged trap door is not strong enough, and both the times a rat took the bait, it pushed the trap door out and escaped. It might be able to hold smaller mice though.

rat does not trap just like that after keeping bait
This product is tricky to use if bait size is large the hook wont move or if the rat is clever it wont move the hook, if doesnot move the door will not close, also killing a live rat like drowning it is very disgusting thing than using rat gums, which are more hassle free, we can just through that pad or scrap rat in dustbin.

Mouse caught
I couldn't get a space for 7 star. Else I would have definitely given 7 star for this product. And yae mission catching mice was successful with this product. I have posted a photo of the mouse in the trap. Catching mice according to me is an art. U got to be patient. This product is the traditional one. And always old ways are better. The so called glue traps are useless as these tiny army get all the items which I keep for them to eat in the middle of the glue trap very easily. Hence I went for this. And bingo. This one was irritating me to such an extent as it habitated in my car always. So how I caught ,day 1 : I kept roasted coconut ,no result, then day2:i figured out they are attracted to ground nuts and then I keep the ground nuts not inside the trap but in front just to be sure if they are at least seeing the trap. It was successful. All groungnut/peanut were missing. Day 3: I put some groundnuts just inside the trap but not entirely inside for them to believe it's not harmful. And then covered the top with papers so to hide the trap. Result. All papers were moved and groundnuts missing. So day 4: I put a newspaper on the bottom on this grill product for them to think that's it not harmful and this time I put the groundnuts on the complete inside of the trap door. And bingo I caught the mice. So I suggest u guys to do the same and be patient to catch. But I kept changing the trap position/directions.i don't know whether it was OK to change positions but I just posted what I did. And I thank the supplier for this product. Awesome. U guys try it and give me a like so that I can figure how many of you successfully caught a mice. Cheers.

Works well. Used tomato slice as bait.
The cage is ok for small or medium sized rats. I have trapped 5 rats till now. Used tomato slice everytime as bait and works well. A bit difficult to hang the bait inside. Also the rat's tail gets cut most of the time in the door as the door slams hard. But i'm glad to get rid of 5 rats with this till now.

Worked !
Worked in catching a small mouse inside my car !! Set the trap inside my car and put some food (cheese) hanging inside and the mouse got trapped overnight. Was able to later release it far away. More humane way of catching mice.

Bad one .. not sure how this is expected to be operated
Hinges was not fixed properly when delivered . Do they expect customer to weld the hinges into the main body ??Also the size is too small to catch an ant . I doubt a rat will get inside
