took the risk
I don't have a demanding system- I'm running low end cameras on a low power system. So I figured surely' like some of the others this would work for me.and for the first 10 minutes- it did!but then it didn't... so I reset it and then it did!rinse, repeat, refund.opened a return with amazon and the rest is history.... and the power adapter is trash.do not buy.

Works but not enough power
Bought to replace a power adaptor that was falling apart. After to hooking it up my cameras started having lines in the picture on my monitor. Went back to my old one and the lines went away. I believe the power supply here needs to be more powerful or something upgraded inside. Sad thing is I ordered two of them and tried to hook up one to four cameras and the 2nd one to the other four still did the same thing. But my old one will run all eight cameras with no lines.?

Verify Camera Power Specifications!
My Amcrest 8 camera unit stopped showing the video feed. Checking the camera, I realized that there was no power going to the unit. I decided to try this unit to replace the power adapter. I read in the description that the unit will supply either up to 5 or 8 cameras, depending on the camera power demand. I wasn't quite sure how much power my cameras were drawing, but after plugging it in, all 8 cameras instantly powered back up. Not sure what happened to the old power supply, but I'm glad this was a rather inexpensive fix. For the reviews stating that they couldn't power all their cameras, to be fair, the description states clearly that depending on how much power your cameras need, you may not be able to power all 8 cameras. You'd need to look for a different adapter.PROS• Inexpensive replacement• Comes with 8 camera power splitter (didn't need to use this as my previous one still worked fine)• Uses a brick power supply (OEM power supply was built into the plug); this may help it from failing like the previous oneCONS• You will need to check your camera power usage to see if this will be sufficient to run all 8 cameras• Uses a brick power supply (more space needed)This adapter worked for me, and I would recommend if it fits your camera power specifications.

Needed 2 power adapters for 8 cameras
Had to buy a second adapter to power my lorex 8 cameras, I used one adapter to power the 8 cameras, but 3 to 4 cameras would alternately lose power especially at night, probably because of the IR. Ordered another power adapter and run 4 cameras on one and the remaining cameras on the other, now has no issues. The only sad thing is I have doubled the cost instead of 8 cameras to 1 adapter, I have now 4 cameras per adapter, thus the 3 star rating.

This doesn't work, fuzzy lines
I have a Lorex 8 camera system and the video feed had fuzzy horizonal lines the last two weeks and then eventually no more picture. Online research says it's the power adpater so I went on Amazon. I picked this power adapter from AC Doctor INc because there were reviews of Lorex users and ti worked for them. When it arrived, I plugged it in that night to test. I got video feed but fuzzy. I tried switching around connections, moving cables around, still fuzzy. This review is spot on about the adapter not being grounded --> https://www.amazon.com/gp/customer-reviews/R1K9DN7M3FOK6D/ref=cm_cr_dp_d_rvw_ttl?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B076HKCRNGI ask for a refund on this, ordered the TigerSecu power adapter, and now I get clear video feeds again: no more fuzzy horizoy lines.

9 months, still works fine
I have been using this 8-way splitter for 9 months. Despite living in a rural area that gets frequent power outages, I have had no issues with it. When I first got the splitter all of the heads worked. I only have five cameras plugged in, so a few power cords are going unused.10/10 Much better than having a ton of plugs, this should come standard with any box-set that any camera company sells

Not powerful enough for 8 cameras
Bought this to replace the 8 power adapters that came with the 8 Lorex cameras (stupid idea from Lorex not to supply a breakout power adapter). The old camera power supply is from the early 2000's and works just fine, but i thought, new dvr, new stuff all round. The power supply in this item is not enough to power 8 cameras. It will do maybe 5, probably only 4 before the supply gets too loaded and video quality suffers. If I would have known this, I would have just bought a long power strip and dealt with the 8 individual power supplies that came with the 8 cameras.

Not enough power
These are junk. First, there is not enough power to run all 8 cameras from one supply. Second, one of the two supplies puts tons of noise in the camera image and makes it unusable. Waste of money and very disappointed.

Do not buy this item
This item will have serious power problems for your security cameras. I used this to power four 4k cameras and had to remove it because the horizontal distortion was unbelievable. This is due to the power not being filtered efficiently and therefore causes these problems for CCTV cameras.Take my advice and don’t buy this one

Convenient and very affordable
It's very convenient. I replaced 8 power adapters with this one convenient power cord. Price very affordable considering it will replace 8 separate ones which are much more expensive bought separately . I highly recommend.

Plug and Play
Replaced the power supply for my Lorex 6 camera security system, easy-peasy, little nicer than the original, as there is no wall wart, much better for using with a power bar, only installed it yesterday, so we will see about longevity, so far, so good

It's working great
Bought this one for my Lorex 4-camera system, the original stopped working after couple years.Has been using for almost two months. I don't know if it fully supports 6 or 8 cameras. please check required voltage for your cameras before purchase.
