This is a lighter weight plastic than I'd anticipated, and the mesh is just slid in between the louvers and the opening (not affixed in any way. We hot glued it around the edge of the opening to secure it and keep critters out. I also thought there would be some resistance on the louvers, but they just lay flat until the air blows them open. It works just fine and fit as described.

It's ok
The plastic seem sturdy enough, and it's exactly the size I need. The screen is fiberglass and is not actually fastened to the vent - just kind of shoved behind the flaps. Definitely won't keep the birds out. I'm going to cut off the back and hot glue some metal screen to it. A little pricey for what it is.

Product was easy to install and looked great. Too bad the sun made it super brittle and the fins started to break after just over a year.

Good fit
Hard to find an inexpensive high-value air vent cover with a screen. If you are replacing an old one, or have the tube already, this works well.
