Fantastic book, love it

Perhaps I didn't pay too much attention to the book when I purchased it, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that the coloring pages had information about the different houses and the native tribes/areas where they were found. I bought this to use alongside the book First Houses (by Jean Guard Monroe & Ray A. Williamson) for my 4th grader to color while listening. The pictures are great (some even have more detail than others I had originally searched for before I found this)!

Just as many Dover Books that are classified as a coloring book; it a valuable teaching tool for elementary – middle school aged children on The American History that is not taught in most schools.As an educator creating lesson plans on housing and shelters, this is a must have. The possibility for creating comprehensive lesson plans is enough to cover a lesson per week for an entire school year.The beautifully Illustrated , coloring pages contain enough facts to introduce at least 30 North American Natives Tribe dwellings and the people who built them

The students in my middle school History class used this book to help them build their dioramas. Each student chose a different tribe to research and write about; the drawing in this book helped them in recreating the homes of these tribes.This is a good book for anyone studying the dwelling of Native Americans.

the coloring book was fine. It was imformative and the kids liked that and liked coloring. This was a good tool to teach kids about Native Americans.

worth it

Well illustrated book which looks incredible once pictures are completed.It is also well researched with plenty of informative and historical facts to accompany each illustration.

This will be a wonderful addition to our Native American Study unit. Can't wait to incorporate it this Fall at Thanksgiving, The Inuit for Arctic, and in the Summer Enrichment Program for The Wild West unit
