If I could give these 6 stars I would. They are the best hand held pruners I have ever used!! I bought them because I lost my old beloved made in Japan pruners and I needed to replace them. I didn't think anything would be better. I was so wrong! These are incredible! They are sharp (REALLY sharp so be careful). I'm in my 70's and have small arthritic hands and I find these pruners easy to grip and work. They open and close smoothly and easily. The lock works well. They cut through by live and dead wood with very little effort on my part. I cannot say whether or not they will stand the test of time as I got them recently but I like them so much that I ordered a second pair.

The blades are very sharp and cut through plant matter like butter. The handle grip is comfortable and are easy to squeeze together to make the cut (nice for those of use with a touch of arthritis).

These are amazing pruners, much better than the well known brands and cheap knock offs. the grip is all right. not so soft but still not uncomfortable either. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that the grip is not soft and can be slippery a bit. Having said that, compared to some of the popular alternatives out there with ~5 stars, this one deserves 10 stars

So helpful at pruning my old orchids! Really easy to use and the right size and weight for my hands. I love the lock, just in case my cats get at it.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:We have other shears by the same brand, Saboten, and they are reliable, stays sharp, and fits well in our hands. Have been using them for over 30 years and they are still in excellent shape.
