Remember, 1.5" is FOR REAL! It is tiny! I use it to crush medicine to put in apple sauce so my child can swallow a bit easier. It stains really easily and I'm not always sure it's "cleaned" out of residue. That's just from how I use it. But, it is very nice.

This grinds up spice and small pills. But it is very small. Depending on what your needs are, you might want something bigger. It is easy to clean. This worked fine for me.

I have a large marble mortar and pestle at home, but needed something smaller that I could use when travelling. This little one is the right size for crushing a big pill or a couple of small ones. But I wouldn't recommend it if you have the space to use a fullsize, heavy mortar and pestle. A big one is easier, faster, and requires much less force.

It has a nice light weight to it. It fits in the palm of your hand.

Using to crush pet medications. A little small but able to do what I need.

It would have been perfect if I were the size of a Ken doll! I seeiously thought I was being pranked when I opened it.

I really like this set. Perfect for doing what I want....crushing pills and grinding them to a fine powder. I've tried various ways to crush pills before including using a shot glass and a blunt metal utensil. That worked but was very slippery resulting in a coarse grind. The internal surface of this bowl, as well as the end of the pestle, has an unfinished texture which makes pill pulverizing so much easier and efficient.

Perfect size and works well and very durable and will last me a long time and I use this everyday
