Very solid, aluminum construction, with silky, fluidic smooth movement in every plane. When you lock it, it locks tight...all you can really ask for.

As with many things on Amazon, now that the return window passes the device fails. The poor quality screws used to loosen or tighten the platforms strip out or break off making the thing unusable. I was using it for mounting a polar aligned camera for astrophotography. Camera was at best three pounds.

I have always wanted one of these "Z" type of heads and this one is everything I want it to be! Very well made and works flawlessly. One thing that really impressed me is that it comes with a removable threaded insert (see picture) that allows it to be installed on a regular 1/4" screw mount or the larger threaded mount that my Bogen tripod has. It has a couple bubble levels on it so that I always can get true level even if my tripod is not level. The little tightening knobs work well and they are able to be moved out of the way by pulling them away from the head and twisted to one side or another once it is tightened down, they have springs inside them so they snap back into place once you move them out of the way. Very easy to use and works extremely smoothly when moving the platforms or the base for getting panoramic side to side shots. when its all collapsed down, it has a very small profile to it and takes up hardly any space. This head allows me to get my camera into just about any position I can think of and the locks hold it in place securely. I am in love with this head, and it will probably be the only tripod head I will ever use now.

Holds all of my cameras firmly, even my superzoom full size Sony's. I dont have a dslr to test with but it feels plenty sturdy for that to me. The built in bubble level is handy, but mostly I like the range of motion and how stable it is.

Sturdy with a decent weight handling capacity. The joints are multi fingered so you have more surface area to clamp down on. The knobs allow you to apply a good amount of force. It locks into position without sagging. There's a 360° panning pivot that moves smoothly and can be locked in place.

Bought this instead of a MSM Alan Wallace Z to use on my MSM Rotator, the bracket works well in this respect, it locks down solid and does exactly what I'd expect. It's well made and smooth to operate is it as good as the aforementioned bracket? not sure but at half the price it certainly does the job

Ein niedliches Stück Feinmechanik. Hält meine Sony A6000 mit dem SEL20F28 perfekt in Balance. Muss man erst mal drauf kommen, dass die Z-Form die perfekte Montage für immer dabei ist, und nicht der Neigekopf auf dem immer sperrigen Stativ. Das Gadget kann auch auf eine Stativplatte montiert werden. Mit zwei Wasserwagen und arretierbarem 360 Grad Drehung. Die Zeiten sind wohl vorbei, wo in China nur billiger Schrott zusammen gestoppelt wurde.
