I purchased these pants as an easy to pack option for our safari trip in Africa. They are not super breathable but worked well for cool evenings after getting clean up from a day in the field. I think the design would be better with a lower rise and a longer inseam (they really puff out in the front) but otherwise they are well constructed. They are also comfortable. The fabric has a little bit of stiffness but nothing too distracting.They wash up well in a cold machine wash with a low tumble dry.

Looking forward to wearing these on many occasions. Great material & very well made. Super happy with my purchase. I would highly recommend.

Fabric is much easier than I thought it would be. Wrinkles a lot when washed and dried.

Lovely light weight pants. Suggested size fit perfect, including length. I'm 5'5" & they are just right.

These pants are well made, fit true to the size chart, and are a very nice color. I will use them primarily for travel and walking in wet weather as they are thin and dry very quickly. For hot weather, they are not breathable enough. If by "hiking" you mean "a long walk on the local trail", you will be happy with these pants. But if you mean "scaling rock faces on the Appalachian Trail", these are not the pants for you - the pockets are unsuitable and the legs too wide (I personally love the wide legs for local walks!)Another bonus for me - I like to wear bike shorts with a chamois under long pants when cycling to the farmers market - I think bike shorts are UGLY but boy is that chamois necessary for pain prevention. My bike shorts fit well under these and I have the type of bike where the wider legs won't get stuck in the chain. So these are good pants and I'm glad I have them; just be sure you know what you are ordering!
