The TARION Foldable Octabox Bowens Softbox - 90cm/36in is a professional softbox that's super easy to use and make lighting set up so convenient.I've had the opportunity to use this on location for coporate shoots over the last month and given the time I had on hand, I wanted to be able to set up quickly, get the shots and keep the client happy. This softbox delivered in terms of ease of use and sturdiness.The mechanism is interesting as you don't have to pull and lock in place one rod at a time but, rather you have a single handle that you would pull back to open up the softbox and lock in to place. In the end all you have to do is squeeze two little levers together to release the lock and fold it all away.Also included are diffusion sheet and honecomb grid which attach to velcro points arround the inner edge, a separate bowens mount piece which locks into place and a carry case for easy storage and transportation.All this at the pricepoint I believe is a massive benefit to those who really want to build their career with the right gear in place and without having to worry about affordability.Just to sum up;Pros:1. High quality materials making this a professional and sturdy softbox2. Super easy mechanism that allows you to open up the whole softbox with one click3. Great price with all that's includedCons:1. Onyly the one for me to be fair and it's the bowens mount attachment. I understand this allows flexibility for other attachments and easy storage but I'm a little worried about how long it'll last until it starts to spin in place. Only time will tell but it's absolutely solid at the moment.I highly recommend this softbox and will be purchasing various sizes for different lighting set up.

Really quick to set up and take down, that’s a real boon! They seem nicely made, everything fits well (the different layers of diffusion etc). A small point is the fitting, ideally you pop the adapter onto the light, the attached the soft box. You can do it in one go but the adaptor can spin with the octabox so won’t click into the Bowens Mount. If you grip the adaptor you can get away with this.They’re a great price, the bag they come in is today, and I love that they go flat so quality and easily, great functionality! The mechanism feels pretty well made so I’m very happy, especially for the price, a good fine, I’ll be back for a larger one soon!Oh, also lovely and lightweight. Can’t really fault them.

Used it a few times on a shoot, good box. Easy to set up and decent price. Would ask for a better bag but at this price I guess it's okay. Would go for Smallrig alternative if I didn't get this on such low discount price during black Friday.

The media could not be loaded. Really impressed with the build quality of this diffuser. My favourite diffuser to use with people on location is an octobox. This one specifically is great because I'm able to expand and set up the octobox in a matter of seconds. Simply pull the lever until the diffuser clicks into position, and boom, you're ready to shoot.The same can be said for packing down the item. Simply push together two little metal connectors and the octobox collapses for quick dismantling.Honestly, the ease of use on this diffuser is immense. I also get some lovely light diffusion on my subjects when I'm using the diffuser. The depth of the softbox is absolutely perfect for the light quality I conventionally like to use for my shoots.Honestly over the moon with this product. If I could give it 6 stars I would. This soft box is definitely recommended to any photographer/videographer from any skill range.

I should add a disclaimer here that I'm in no way a photographer, much as I would love to be proficient, I'm not, and I don't know the technical words for things, so apologies if I'm a bit dumbed down in how I describe this! I have to take good images for my work, but I generally have no clue what I'm doing, so things need to be pretty simple and work well for me to get on with them.I love this softbox. I actually use it for photographing wedding cakes, not taking portraits, and I'm finding it very easy to use, and the results are really good. I have to put my lighting away after I've used it as I don't have a dedicated space to keep it, so it also needs to be ready to assemble and disassemble.I've used two other types of lighting setup, and this one is my go to now. I have a dual umbrella one, which has separate lights on tripods and separate diffuser umbrellas on tripods. This is a heavy and bulky option which I hate having to get out.My other lighting setup is a full box, which again is a pain to set up, although the results are, to be fair, excellent.This little diffuser uses my existing lights, so I didn't have to buy anything new which was a bonus. More of a bonus though is that it's so light I can just ask my husband to stand and hold it exactly where I need it, and so I don't need to bother with getting a tripod out. Just for that alone I'd buy it again.I like the honeycomb grid must, that seems to give me the nicest, most even lighting. I think getting the largest size of the softbox would possibly have helped even more with that, but it's still great for what I need.Set up and take down is a doddle. It really is as easy as the video shows. I'd happily recommend this.
