Safely Transport Wheelchair Bound Patient/Person- even those larger than caregiver.
I purchased this for my father who has been wheelchair bound for about 2 years. It made a world of difference in helping him stand up and move to a chair, toilet or different locations. It has enabled transfers by people who normally may not have the strength to do so. This product is a safe, reliable way to transfer a patient, especially helpful when the patient maybe larger than the caregiver. As a physician specializing in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, I strongly recommend trying the Patient Lift.

Works well for moving from bed to wheelchair.
This is a very sturdy stand assist. The only things I would change is there is a gap where the two sides of the seat come together that can pinch if care is not taken. Also, the pull pins that unlock the seat are very hard on the fingers when pulling to open. Some kind of padding on these would be nice. Other than those two things it works very well for transfer as long as the patient has enough strength to stand until the seat can be unlocked and put into position for sitting. The base adjusts very easily with a tap of the foot.

It's quite a massive thing
The carton arrived. A little over 3 feet by a little under 3 feet by a little under 1 foot. And 80 lbs of heavy metal. They skimped on packing tape, so taped flaps arrived opened, not to mention one flap arrived torn open in half; hopefully nothing fell out. Or, left by the garage door by FedEx, hopefully no bugs got into the carton.80 lbs. I used a dolly to help get the carton into the house.Carton was rubbed in dirt on all sides. Hate it when that happens. Damaged carton and dirty to boot. I would have preferred if opening the carton wasn't a dirty affair. Assume it's mostly a FedEx problem. All the big pieces are there. And I don't mind getting a couple of extra bolts and hardware. I do mind having to make an 8 PM trip to Home Depot to get one more lock washer and one more flat washer -- only got 11 of each when the parts list calls for 12.Dang; 12 of each isn't required. Parts list should only list what's required, not the extras. So I went to Home Depot to replace missing extra hardware that wasn't actually necessary.I installed the crosspiece backwards that holds the knee rests. The photo was too zoomed-in to show the correct orientation. So I had to undo 4 big, tight bolts -- I tightened them myself -- to turn the piece around. It's called a "Usability Study," for the manufacturer to discover insufficiencies in the instructions. Did you even have a Usability Engineer check out your product? The directions, such as they are, only include assembly. Nothing about operation. Zero. Zip. For starters, what's the basic recommendations for any height adjustments? (Even if it means disassembling a few of those big, tight bolts.) In fact, any height adjustments are not even labeled in the instructions, but only suggested in the marketing information pre-sale.The wheel locks are supposed to be foot actuated and released. The amount of pressure required to activate the wheel locks would damage my sneakers after a few times. Instead, I find it easier to bend down and push on the locks with my fingers -- if you call that "easier." My philosophy is "Don't force things," so it took me a while to figure out how the wheel locks work -- They take real force! If the tabs for actuating the locks were a bit longer, the leverage force would be multiplied and they would be easier to actuate. Also, if the tabs were a bit longer, there wouldn't be a tendency to push the On tab and the Off tab at the same time, another problem that's worked-around by using your fingers. The two seats swing in and out. One seat swings smoothly. The other one gets stuck halfway through, requiring three times more force to complete the motion. I swung the seat in and out a dozen times hoping the sticking problem would smooth out, but it looks like it's going to be a continuing nuisance. Plus, the locking mechanism to keep the seat(s) in position requires too much force to disengage. They're small, thin, metal pull-rings that require pounds of force before unlocking the seats. That could go back to the drawing board. The wheels on the base work famously. There's no carpeting here, so I can't speak to that potential complication. But on a smooth floor, the massive lift floats on the floor easily, and the wheels never complain when you change direction, and leave no scratches on the floor. The white paint has a few gashes in it. Many pieces are big and heavy, and are apparently handled with contempt back in the factory. It would take some big, dramatically loud impacts to cause the paint damage I observed. Manufacturing procedure should add some aids to help the workers avoid smashing the paint. Like, don't stack the pieces without laying down some bubble wrap between them. Also, a few square inches here and there seemed to not get any paint.Three out of five stars for design, lose two stars for the wheel locks and seat locks. Two out of five stars for the instructions, QC, and manufacturing engineering. It's quite a massive thing for three hundred dollars. None of the imperfections made my item unusable, just bothersome.

Wonderful!!
My Physical Therapist enthusiastically endorsed this life-changing device for home use, and it has transformed my life. I've achieved remarkable milestones from sitting to standing, and we utilize it daily. For anyone with a spinal cord injury, this device is incredibly liberating. It has significantly alleviated the stress on my husband in transferring me between rooms or placing me in my wheelchair.

Save time and energy
I've used various lifts in the past, but this one stands out. The wide base ensures stability. It's easy to maneuver in tight spaces, and the soft foam handrails provide a comfortable grip for patients. This lift has saved me time and energy, I am grateful
