eve Sleep Original Memory Foam Mattress, Emperor, Breathable, 200 x 200 cm

Arrived promptly in good condition.This is the second memory foam mattress I have had.Although more expensive than the last one, I find I slept better and my suspect back never bothered me on the old one.I now occasionally wake up with an aching back.

Took 8 days to arrive, but not particularly bothered. Too heavy for me to get up stairs, but helpful strong neighbour was a saviour. Unpacking simple, but first impressions of screwed-up mattress not inspiring! Boy, was it compressed and looked nothing like it was supposed to. Felt a bit short-changed, but even after a couple of hours it had puffed up enough to actually look like a mattress. Left it 24hrs, whereupon it didn't seem to bulk up any more. Chemical smell only just noticeable and went entirely after 48hrs. Eve state the mattress is 25cms thick when fully expanded, but it is not! Mine got to 21cms and stuck at that. All this talk in reviews about the Eve mattress being "firm" is inaccurate - I would say it is medium; also I did find one sunk into it a bit, just like you do on an ordinary memory foam mattress; another feature similar to all mem.foam ones is the heat problem : the surface does get hot and sticky. I countered this by adding a thin 1inch topper. Despite saying on their website that the mattresses might be an inch or so smaller than the specified dimensions so as to ensure they fitted all bed frames, mine is actually an inch or so longer than standard UK double bed length, so i had to squish it a bit to get it to fit my standard UK double bed. Weird? Am sort of content with the mattress, but don't consider it worth the money over a conventional memory foam one costing less than half as much. A good deal of hype and marketing has gone into these Eve, Casper and Simba and Leesa mattresses and like me a lot of folk will get taken in. have not had it long enough to comment on its purported aid to backpain sufferers - will review it more in a couple of months time. Basically, i wish it was firmer and that one did not end up in a depression on it; not a great improvement on my old mattress for the money. Oh, and as far as the Eve "try it for 100 days" offer, if you got the mattress from Amazon, you can forget it! I spent ages on the phone to an Eve customer service agent before buying mine, to try and get a definitive answer about this - she just would not answer yes or no - just kept referring me to Amazon's 30 day return/refund policy; eventually I got her to crumble, and she admitted Eve would not honor that promise, nor pick up the mattress for a refund if you bought it from Amazon. So, you either pay the full price from Eve (horrendous) or you buy it from Amazon and just accept the fact that you will have to like it or lump it; no way can you be sure its right for you within less than 30 days of use. 16 months later and I can no longer stand it! Always end up in a depression along the mattress and spend night trying to "climb out" of the well that I find myself in. It feels firm to the touch, but as soon as you have been on it for a few minutes it sags all round you. No good for my lumbar back pain and in fact gave me upper back stiffness and pain every morning. Am ditching it for a proper FIRM latex mattress. NB even if you get it from EVE, the 100 day return offer is no good, as that's only three months or so and it's impossible in that time to make the big decision of returning the thing; you need longer to really decide.

The mattress is very good. But it had to be replaces twice before I get one that I was happy with.The first mattress I got came deformed in one of the sides, the second was super soft, I could sink entirely on it.But EVE had an exceptional customer support and a 90 days money back guarantee. I contacted them the for the first time to complain about the mattress and they arranged it to be replaced, in a couple days after the replacement I was convinced that the second mattress was even worse than the first one, super soft and uncomfortable. I contacted them again and they said that they could replace it again or give me the money back, but asked me to try it a bit longer, since my eve was replaced the 90 days guarantee had started over again. I gave the mattress a few more weeks, but it didn't fix it self. I contacted them again, and they explained me that the newer versions of the mattress are softer, and offered me a "firmer" version of the mattress, but this time I would have only 30 days to try it out.This firm version was since day one much more comfortable, and I really like it. If I'm not mistaken it was called "deluxe", but I didn't have to pay any extra for it.I always blamed the transport for the damage of my first 2 mattress, as you can see in the attached photos, that's what you will get. It's nothing like the pictures of an nice box being delivered by bike to your door. That picture is of the last delivery, the one that wasn't in a bad shape internally, so you can imagine the state of the boxes of the first 2 deliveries.I would give 5 stars for the mattress I currently have, 1 for the second I got, and 3 for the first.But given all the inconvenience of getting it replaced so many times, I'll stick with 4.

I love this mattress! Bought one after a couple of people at work highly recommended an Eve mattress to me, and I am so glad I bought one! I got it in the Black Friday sale, if you can wait its worth doing this as they are not cheap mattresses. The best deal I could find was here on Amazon, actually was the night before Black Friday so keep checking in the run up! It arrived the next day which is impressive, comes in a giant box which I managed to get up the stairs on my own, although I can imagine some people could struggle with this. I'm female, of average strength and managed it fine. Also you have to get rid of the packaging as well, its a huge box, but I just broke it down and ran it all up the tip.Mattress takes a few hours to inflate back up to size so dont unpack just before bed, allow enough time for this to happen. I have slept so well since having this mattress, its REALLY comfortable. I know some people say its too firm, for me its perfect. I guess if you can, find a shop that sells them and try lying on it to see for yourself before buying. If you buy from Eve direct they do a 100 day trial period, but it costs a lot more to buy direct from them. I am 100% happy with my mattress and would highly recommend it! Only trouble is, it makes getting out of bed in the mornings even more difficult lol!
