Be patient and nurture them and you won’t be disappointed!
It took these guys over two months to grow, planted at the end of June, pretty late but ai thought I’d try since Houston heat lasts well past our “fall” until about November. But to be fair, Houston has had boughts of scorching heat and drought and recently days and days of rain. So their growing environment has probably stressed them out. I didn’t make any special raised beds either, they were sprinkled around the trees in the front yard. Just tilled the soil a bit to loosen up our hard soil and added peat moss and gardening soil to the existing soil and mixed it up. (Not a professional, just trying things and having fun seeing how it works out lol.)They get mostly full to partial sun, zone 9A. Nothing special, directly sowed into a little peat moss and garden soil around our trees. I did an experiment and sprinkled the seeds around and then sprinkled peat moss lightly over them for one tree, and the other tree I sprinkled the seeds around and lightly raked them. Interestingly the unraked seeds germinated much faster and more germinated. Then when the seedlings were about 5-6 inches tall I spread them out and gave the Vigoro fertilizer. Babied them with water while they were small. They have been pummeled and seemingly knocked over by heavy rain, but with a little temporary staking using some bamboo bbq skewers, they got right back up. The ones that stayed knocked down most re rooted up the stem, we’ll see how those do, they have not budded yet.I’m pleased that after 2.5 months-ish I’m rewarded with these this week! So if they’re slow, be patient!!I’ll update with more pictures as they continue to grow and the other buds bloom! This has been quite educational for me and a joy. I am super pleased and highly recommend these zinnia seeds!Update 9/22/22The next set of zinnias have many more rows of petals and vibrant, but they’re still smaller 1-1.5 inch diameter—as you can compare the first two pictures when I posted the review with the last two today.I have not trimmed them yet, but will update again after trimming and the blooms that come after.Again, I am attributing the size to less than ideal conditions this season, but if this is how they appear with abuse, I am eager to resow in the spring to see their potential! Still highly recommend!Update 5/11/23These have reseeded into the same beds, grew in the spring, and now I’m getting some bicolored zinnias along with solid! Very interesting! Still not very big, maybe nickel to quarter to half dollar sized blooms, but still pretty colored and attracting bees and butterflies! This is the first set of blooms, will see how they develop through the season!

Flowers are attractive.
I purchased the seeds and had no issues with germination in May 2024. I think these might take longer than other zinnias to grow, one of them finally flowered a couple of days ago and the rest are budding. The photos are from today when I wrote this review. Well worth it and will be purchasing seeds again.

These grew so big and beautiful!
These grew so big and beautiful! These zinnias have been thriving since I planted them in spring. I do constantly “deadhead” my bed and that absolutely helps. Im new to growing zinnias but I did learn The more you cut the more they just keep growing! The perfect summer flower to fill your garden!

Duds. Way less seeds in the bag than I bought, several weren't ripe & not a one grew!
I have really intermittent luck with Outsidepride. Sometimes their seeds grow great, & sometimes I get duds. Well, these were duds. And if you google around on the company to see if others have had the same issues, you will find a bunch of rude, haughty messages from the staff trashing people for daring to complain that they purchased nonviable seeds from them. The customer service seems really poor, & there's no warranty for dud seeds like most other seed companies have. I would save your money, they clearly harvested seeds too early because most were white & unripe, they never should have been packaged for resale. I found a similar color scheme called "magic carpet" from another vendor & those came right up within just a few days of planting. It's a shame, I was *really* looking forward to these guys, the photos look so lovely! But I am not going to throw another 6+ bucks down the drain for a company that does not stand by its products & that has staff that trashes their own customers whenever anyone contacts them about dud seeds.

Germinated as expected
The seeds perform well. Transplanted with minimal signs of shock. I recommend the seeds from the seller.

Awesome
I bought three different zinnia seeds from this seller. All did wonderfully well! I recommend them for sure! I put 2-3 seeds per drop and literally all of them sprouted. I do think I could’ve spaced them closer together than the packaging said, but it was a learning lesson.

Pretty flowers
Only 4 came up but they’re very pretty and short and that’s what I wanted.

2nd year buying these
These always germinate quickly and flower and are tall and beautiful. I use them as cut flowers all summer long. I get a great variety of colors with some flowers being gradients of colors. They always attract hummingbirds and butterflies too.
