This does not pose an impedance issue as the high frequencies do not require much power from the amp.

Since this has a builtin cross over, why do you recommend NOT to connect directly to the amp?

These speakers are made to enhance the higher frequencies of your existing speakers. Why would you want to connect to your amp alone and run more wiring? It would be redundant and a waste of your money.
