Awesome headphones for the range & hunting, intercom feature is ok

I have friends that have been using these for a while now, and they love them. I decided to get mine when I saw they were on sale. They arrived 1 day early, and we're neatly packaged. The ear muffs: The ear muffs offer good hearing protection. When that are turned off, they are better than my cheap, non electronic muffs. In fact, they rival a really nice set of muffs I use when wood working. Once I turned them on, I tested how they picked up sound. I think they are adequate, but was a little disappointed that I lost directional hearing. Volume control is easy to use, and they move with my head without losing the seal around my ears. The walkie talkie: This thing is actually pretty nice. Putting it on the ear muffs is pretty simple, and it uses its own batteries. That's right, it works independently from the ear muffs. When the ear muffs cut loud noises, the walkie is still working at full volume. It also works while the ear muffs are turned off. I tested it out to 300 meters with no loss of performance. Tx and Rx were crystal clear. This is actually very surprising since the antenna is so short. The VOX setting works great, and has a high and low sensitivity setting. Both do their job well. One feature I haven't tested yet is the priority channel setting. But it seems like a cool idea. Bottom line is, these aren't the best hearing protection out there, and they aren't the best comms set up. However, you would be VERY hard-pressed to find anything close to this quality at this price. Just buy them. You won't be disappointed.
