The piston located on the bottom side of my travel trailer door had gone bad and the door would not stay open. Even the lightest breeze would cause the door to close. I removed the old piston and noted that there were various numbers printed on the side of it. I got on Amazon and started searching and found the piston with the same numbers as what I had, and in the same size as my old one. The new item arrived a day later, and it was super easy to install and now it firmly holds the door open. I got the 15 lbs holding power version and it is perfect for the door.

I purchased these to replace the gas strut on my RV door. A OEM one should be between 10-20lbs, so I figured that a 15lbs one would be perfect. It opens the door easily (you have to hold it!) and doesn't require a lot of force to close. It will hold the door in high winds easily. The ends/heads were too big and the door wouldn't close, but you can unscrew them and use the OEM ones. Keep your OEM gas strut to replace the ends/heads if needed!
