This stuff is my go-to for black cakes & frosting! It has an amazing, rich flavor, & works well in all sorts of recipes. Getting your cake a true black can be really tricky, & I definitely prefer using a mixture of black cocoa powder, black gel food coloring, & the immersion blender trick to pull it off. This method is WAY more effective than just relying on food coloring. And I’ve gotten nothing but glowing reviews about the flavor!

This cocoa is darker than what you can find in most stores and makes a luxurious black color for a feast for the eyes as well as the tongue. The consistency is super fine and makes an excellent chocolate cake- the texture is very smooth. It has a lovely, rich flavor profile, and is easy to use. It is a bit expensive, but most things are these days and for specialty baking, it is worth it. You can see in my picture the color compared to regular and “special dark” cocoa by another brand- you can see its richness even before adding it to wet ingredients. This chocolate is excellent to use in place of black food dye for frosting cakes if you need black and that way you don’t have to poison yourself with a whole bottle of artificial dye.Also- some people mentioned cutting it with other cocoas to make it a bit less intense on the flavor and that works, too, but if you like rich, darkChocolate, I would just use it straight. 5/5 stars. I’m definitely buying again!

This brand of black cocoa is truly exceptional. The taste is fantastic, and the texture is perfect. The value for money is outstanding. It imparts a rich Oreo flavor to anything you add it to, and you don’t need to use much for great results, making it highly functional.

It is a wonderful product. I added a tablespoon to a cup of buttercream, and in a couple of days, it was BLACK, exactly what I needed for and tasted delicious.

Quick shipping which was important because I was teaching a kids cooking class. It worked very well, and the children enjoyed making oreos from scratch. I appreciated the comment from others to open and close the bag, and measure carefully since the powder is much finer than regular cocoa. The flavor was very good.

Makes gorgeously black baked goods! I took a risk to make this cake for my brother which involved making a black mirror glaze and it worked SUPERBLY! I added a pic (pardon for using a filter) and not only was it lovely to look at but it also tasted really good. I will say that if you have eaten an Oreo, the flavor is very similar. I will mention that I used BOTH regular chocolate cake mix and added this mix to darken it. When I made the glaze, I was a little wary because the powdered sugar and this mix made it look light grey, but once the liquids were added in, the magic was there. 100% worth it!

Makes the darkest best tasting brownies. I substitute half my cocoa for this in my brownie recipe and they come out tasting amazing. Can't just use this as my recipe has baking powder in it.
