The Fine Print Review
From Lala’s Book ReviewsTW/CW: cancer, parent death, deception, depression, and thoughts of suicideLet me just say ROWAN KANE, I just need this man in my life. Yes, in the beginning of the book he was self-center and after becoming the CEO of his grandfather’s legacy but agh *shakes screen* this man had my heart from the very beginning. He’s demanding, arrogant, and determined.Zahra works at Dreamland Park in Florida as a stylist working with children who come there and helps transform them into characters from their favorite movies, but her heart is in creating. She loves what she does, but she wants more , and the opportunity presents itself when Rowan opens up an application for a new creator to join the team to help him with his project. Zahra doesn’t really think anything of it, but her friend Clair convinces her to submit her application. Which Zahra does after drinking, and she also happens to talk about some of the things wrong with the current ride. She feels like she’s really done it now, and tries to avoid Rowan at all cost especially since he seems to pop out of shadows around her. When Rowan decides to hire as his new creator, he’s hoping that she’s the ticket he needs to help him get what he wants, but he doesn’t expect this bubbly woman who infuriates him to no end and makes him rethink his priorities and what it means to be a member of the team. Rowan grew up with parents who were crazy about each other and say how it destroyed his father once his mother passed away, so to say that Rowan is cynical is an understatement. After years of detaching himself from the world, focusing on his career, and being put down by his father, Rowan wants nothing to do with the sunshine that Zahra radiates, but he cant help but get drawn into her warmth. He thinks that she has anterior motives to being that nice and wants to find her secrets.Yet, after attempts to get her to “crack” he sees that Zahra really is a caring person, and by the time he figures that out, he’s in to deep and can’t stay away. But, he doesn’t want anything serious, and they agree to see where this attraction will take them without putting labels on it. Plus, Zahra isn’t the first to want to jump in a relationship after being burned by her ex, but like Rowan she feels this pull that she can’t resist. As their relationship starts to build, it’s hard to ignore the evolution of their causal relationship as they build something that is more a physical attraction as Rowan starts to see more of Zahra with her family and outside of work. But, their pasts still have a grip on their current life that makes it hard for either of them to move forward. All I can say is that if you like new adult romance that is slightly dark with twists and turns and lots of emotional moments you need this book. The character progression in this book is amazing as you can see the shifts in both Zahra and Rowan throughout the whole book as they start to see life in a different light. This book will hook you in instantly, so I don’t recommend starting or finishing it at night because you’ll either stay up all night finishing it or have a wicked book hangover. If you need anymore reason o start reading this book, I was only about halfway through this one before I had bought the second one because I knew that I needed more of this book series in my life!

Its ok, but not great...
📚The Fine Print📚By Lauren AsherRating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️Review: This might be an unpopular opinion, but I didn't love this book 😕It took me a very long time to get into it and even then I struggled. The story just didn't hit me and I didn't find the Disney vibes as charming as everyone else did apparently.Rowan is the youngest grandson of the late Brady Kane, who I guess is suppose to be a Walt Disney of sorts. He created “Dreamland” and now all three of his grandsons have to jump through hoops to get their shares of the company. Rowan is a very grumpy character but he's set on his goal. Then Zahra happens...In my opinion Zahra was by far the best part of this book. She is a colorful character with so many amazing traits. I love her talent, her kindness, her sense of humor, her optimistic nature. She's very easy to fall in love with as a reader. While she has worked at Dreamland as a stylist, she has always dreamed of being a creator. And as fate would have it, she is given that opportunity.Rowan and Zahra’s story is heavy grumpy/sunshine. Rowan was starting to piss me off. Why even bother with someone that damn grumpy? This story was also a VERY..... SLOW.... Burn 🤦🏻♀️. Nothing good happened until chapter 30. I’m not all about the spice but when you read a romance that you know has spice in it, I don't expect to have to wait until chapter 30 to see any action 🤨.There were some cute parts and some spicy scenes, but all and all this book just didn't do it for me. I’m not sure if I should bother reading the other two books in this trilogy. Are the other books better? If you’ve read them let me know what you think!
