Especially in a 2-player (1 v 1) context, the Woodland Edge cards do really well in balancing the asymmetry between one player who may luck out on drawing out deer/wolves and another who may not. There are more viable pathways than Alpine (which feels more linear). I find combining both expansions somewhat interesting for pure novelty's sake, but to be honest my favourite way to experience Forest Shuffle is with Woodland Edge. I do occasionally play Alpine as well, but just to keep things fresh and change it up.

Add more cards, combinations send options to a great game

Nice expansion. Works well to strengthen some of the weaker strategies. Includes Shrubs as well. Have tried it on its own with the base game, and also mixed in with Alpine expansion as well.For me I'd go Base Game first, then Alpine, then both.
