This TV was purchased to be able to be watch live TV where we have wi-fi but no accessible TV aerial socket. It was easy to set up - I just skipped the section on tuning - and immediately connected to the wi-fi. Most apps are already installed - and it was easy to add any others that I use. Setting up (signing in to) the apps is also easy - via the QR code or a laptop -provided you know your existing passwords!. The user interface is reasonably intuitive and reasonably quick. The screen/picture/colour quality (from wi-fi) is satisfactory - the relatively low resolution (this 24" TV is only HD Ready, not Full HD) is fine for a TV of this size that is not our primary source of TV. The sound quality is only adequate - tinny and lacking bass - but this is a small and inexpensive TV with great features.

I initially bought this Toshiba TV thinking it was a bargain, but it’s turned out to be a frustrating experience. The most annoying issue now is the sound – it randomly stops working and the only way to fix it is to unplug the TV and plug it back in. That’s unacceptable for any modern TV. On top of that, the sleep mode is poorly implemented. If you switch the TV on and leave it idle, or even pause what you're watching, it goes into sleep mode after a while. Annoyingly, there’s no option to disable sleep mode completely – the maximum you can set it to is 240 minutes. I've googled and youtubed to try to find a solution and nothing! That’s just ridiculous! All in all, this TV seemed like a good deal at the time, but with these recurring problems, I’m already looking for a replacement. Would not recommend – spend a bit more and save yourself the headache.

Ideal for the bedroom

I was very disappointed with the sound of this TV, it's tinny and lacks bass. My old defunct lg 22 inch had far better sound. However I love the picture, fire apps work great and the size fits my bedroom well. I found a small Bluetooth soundbar I had which cost very little and it sounds great now. Also the picture and sound controls are not very intuitive and it took a while to work out how to customise those. The manual and online instructions are useless. If I hadn't found this audio work around I would probably have returned it. If I had known the sound was going to be this bad I would have chosen a different model but am now happy. If you buy it be aware you will need to add a soundbar to have acceptable sound so in choosing a 24 inch tv budget for a soundbar for this Toshiba.
