Frankie Said (Deluxe Edition) is a compilation that combines - for the first time ever - the very best of the audio and video Frankie Goes To Hollywood created for ZTT between 1983 and 1987. From obscurity to infamy and back again in less than five years, perhaps more than any other group, Frankie Goes To Hollywood define 80s music. Their first three singles all reached number one (matching the record set by fellow Liverpudlians Gerry and the Pacemakers twenty years earlier). But of course there's much more to Frankie than their first three singles. There were several other major international hits, a wealth of brilliant album-only band compositions, a number of inspired cover versions, a phalanx of highly creative 12 inch remixes (two of the finest of which are included here) and series of cutting edge videos. The latter are all present, alongside BBC TV appearances - previously unavailable footage from Top Of The Pops and The Oxford Road Show '84 - and rare material from the Zang Tuum Tum archives. In short, the best-selling 'best of' of one of the most provocative, original and successful bands of the 80s has just been radically updated and improved.

True tribute to FGTH
For the short time they were around and burst onto the scene in the Eighties they brought a breath of Fresh Air to the Music Business with cleaver, oh so clever, Marketing and promotion that is still working to this day with this Album, As with all Ztt signings they had limited material but could be drawn out with loads of different mixes and different covers and thus became a collectors dream, and nightmare. This Album is special as apart from great Tunes, you know them all! if comes with a DVD with various promo videos like Two Tribes which is a must for those of us who began the journey with them right from the beginning. I would have even have bought the DVD if it was sold on its own. Well worth buying.

Holly. Ped. Paul. Nasher and Mark thanks
An absolutely brilliant greatest hits packageThis band should of could of been even bigger for longer, shame that ZTT record company screwed them over. Seriously the band don't even own the publishing rights to their own songs which means that the record label make most of the money from the sale of this album. That said I purchased it because FGTH ruled the charts for a couple of years and I was a massive fan boy.

Beautifully packaged, with clear vinyl discs.
Beautifully packaged, the double gatefold folds well, and feels better quality than ZTT used in the 1980s. The discs are actually pressed on clear vinyl - very nice looking, but extreme audiophiles might have preferred black.
