Excellent product, quite heavy and I like the smoothed surface. The pestle is also heavy and very good quality. This will stay in our family forever. Has a great capacity as well , can hold about four cups of tasty guac, can also be used to serve up hot broiled dishes.

Fantastic item

Great size mortar easy to use large enough to do your avocados and other spices. The large mortar is very sturdy very functional the value for your money . Easy to clean . I will be buying another one. One for only spice and the other one for avocado and other wet mixture.

For years we've used a smallish (probably medium sized) ceramic mortar with a wooden pestle. It has served its purpose but takes a lot long than it should and its finesse is limited. I ordered this unpolished stone molcajete thinking that at minimum I could handle more at a time with it. That has proven to be true, for sure, but I can also tell you that every aspect of the molcajete is even better than anticipated. It arrived well packaged which was good because this thing is all rock and is quite heavy. The 8” size is pretty large and the entire thing looks pretty impressive even in its unpolished stone state. The mortar is very well made, has lovely grooves, and thanks to its weight it holds nice and still while you use it. The pestle looks unwieldy at first but the shape is perfect for fitting in the hand and the weight of it really aids in grinding. Others in my family have used it as well and we are all quite impressed with how well it works and how easy it is to use. I absolutely do not regret ordering it and it is a welcome addition to our family cooking tools....

This mortar and pestle set is just wow! The craftsmanship is beyond what I expected. It is comfortable to hold onto even when what you’re working on is taking forever. The set is pretty heavy but it will last us forever with how thick it is. It cleans up easy and has made my desire to k ow what’s in my food more of a reality!

I’m quite pleased with this mortar and pestle, it’s large enough to make a small batch of salsa or grind a larger batch of spices. It does take awhile to season it properly, I’ve had to do about one seasoning per day due to the time it takes. But I’m very pleased with it.The only part that frustrated me was shipping took over a month to get it here. I realize that’s not necessarily the sellers fault, but it was irritating. Overall, I’m very pleased with it.
